Death Medical school faculty in the Philippines pay their respects to cadavers, or 'silent mentors.

UST MED PAYS THEIR RESPECT TO THE ‘SILENT MENTORS’

The UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery honored their “silent mentors” with a solemn Mass led by its regent, Fr. Maximo Gatela, O.P., on Monday, August 11.

Candles and flowers were offered to the human remains, which will be examined by students in their anatomy classes. (: Djenhard Yreneo Raphael Y. Sapanhila/The Varsitarian)

That's really nice. It must be such a weird balance between recognising the humanity that the cadavers once were, but also emotionally distancing themselves.

Honestly this is so beautiful. I think so many people in the medical industry forget that everyone they deal with living and dead were human and this is such a touching way to show it
