Suggest me a song to listen to, and I will listen to the first 100 and rate them out of 10. If I've already listened to it before, I'll reply saying so, and you can recommend a different one. Once I've listened to the first 100 songs suggested, I'll make another post with my ratings and rankings. This might take some time though as I might listen to some of these songs multiple times.

I have no genre preferences as I listen to pretty much everything. I have acts like Radiohead, Slayer, Chappell Roan, Nas, Captain Beefheart, Bach, John Coltrane, Smashing Pumpkins, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Carly Rae Jepson, Ulcerate and Sigur Ros on the same playlist at any given time.

I'm looking for songs where the singer mentions a lot of names in order, or distributed throughout the song

Preferably newer music, keeping in mind my knowledge base usually encompasses most bands that are even loosely related. I'm already familiar with all of Claypool's, Hesketh's and Maynard's other projects. I'm also familiar with Ivarsson's solo project. Would much appreciate any suggestions you can give.

The only song I know of is bleed by Malcom Todd and Omar Apollo. The rock I'm most familiar with is bands like Def Leppard, Walk The Moon, Saint Motel, CRUISR etc. Looking for something a little angstier/grungier, high school garage band though. Would like recs that are both rock with RnB influence and RnB with rock influence.

Edit: for more info on era and style of rnb because I've seen a couple people ask, I'm a particularly big fan of anderson paak, musiq soulchild, Alex Isley etc and then I listen to a lot of artists that get their inspiration from the above artists. HYBS, RINI, Dear Silas, RUBII, Teo Glacier, Amaria etc.

My daughter is about to turn 17. She drives a car that’s old enough to have the original CD player in the dash and she has a small collection of CD’s. I’m about to go to a record store and I will be looking for gems, and I wondered if there are any great albums I might not remember. What is an album on CD that you couldn’t live without?

She has varied tastes from many decades, especially alternative from the 90’s to current alt music, Queen and Bowie.

This is obviously a subjective post. As post suggest “all time” so feel free to go back to to the 50’s and please consider that bands from this millennium may not hold up in a couple decades. Also genre blending bands welcome.

What are songs that you didn't like on the first listen but now you can't get enough of?

This hypes my day up and I really want more songs to add in the playlist. So if you know one, I’m open to listening 😩

Sorry if I describe something incorrectly, I’m not the most savvy when it comes to music terminology. Of all the songs I keep on rotation, my most favorite ones have moments where the focus is on the vocals with an emphasis on the harmony it makes. The vocals don’t have to harmonize with other vocals (though I do like that more), other instruments work fine as well. These sometimes small moments in songs can make bad songs worth listening to and good songs beautiful. Again, out of fear I’m describing something wrong, here are three examples: I Wanna Know - by Secret Menu into Nowhere - by Rose Avenue Knights of Cydonia - by Muse All of these songs are good in my opinion; not great, but I’d still probably give them a listen from time to time. But the moments where the vocals rise and the rest of the song swells to meet them make those songs some of my favorites. If any of you have songs that fit my shoddy description, I’d really like to take a listen.

Olivia has always been my favorite singer-songwriter , I really like her music, especially the alternative/pop rock ones over her acoustic indie-ish songs so I’d like recommendations with the same sound as the rock songs !
