Best American rock band of all time

This is obviously a subjective post. As post suggest “all time” so feel free to go back to to the 50’s and please consider that bands from this millennium may not hold up in a couple decades. Also genre blending bands welcome.

I'm appalled at how far down I had to scroll before I hit the Prairie Prog titans. Thru all the years and all the lineup changes, they've been one of the most consistently excellent live acts, and steadily tapping top tier talent to keep the music moving forward. Like they said 51 years ago on their first album cover, We are KANSAS! Kansas is a BAND! :-D
