Best American rock band of all time

This is obviously a subjective post. As post suggest “all time” so feel free to go back to to the 50’s and please consider that bands from this millennium may not hold up in a couple decades. Also genre blending bands welcome.

Like them, but I prefer Skynyrd to them for that genre

? The only thing they really have in common is Jacksonville, two very different bands. Both all-time greats.

I agree, but they are often lumped together as southern rock so that is why I used the phrase I did.
