Best American rock band of all time

This is obviously a subjective post. As post suggest “all time” so feel free to go back to to the 50’s and please consider that bands from this millennium may not hold up in a couple decades. Also genre blending bands welcome.

I picked up a cassette (I am old) of the Neighborhood because it was steeply discounted. I’d only heard of them because of La Bamba. I played that thing until it wore out. My son still bursts into songs from now.

That’s amazing!! I’m old too and I don’t live in L.A. and knew of them before “La Bamba” because my brother is a guitar player/guitar teacher and worships David Hidalgo .

With good reason—he is phenomenal! They also turned up on a Grateful Dead tribute album around the time I first heard of them. They are so good. Kiko and the Lavender Moon is such an eerie song. I love it.
