Yes, this. Came to say this. Also Fontaines DC

1

u/The_Mellow_Tiger 4d ago

Grace by IDLES was fucking fantastic

u/immarypoppinsyall246 4d ago

My chemical romance! And if you (somehow šŸ˜”) dont like them, gerard way made a song with deadmau5 you could check out

6

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

I have a....rocky relationship with MCR sadly. Very good band, appreciate them! But I listened to them a bit too much in a bad time in my life. Hopefully I can like them in full again eventually

Falling In Love Will Kill You is in my rotation of songs though!

1

u/immarypoppinsyall246 4d ago

Ohh right, thats totally understandable. Yeah, hopefully you can enjoy them again sometime. :)

1

u/Electronic-Age-8864 4d ago

If you like mcr try Twilight Sad, like Scottish emo rawk

I'll suggest Spoon and Little Dragon if you haven't heard them yet

2

u/EclecticSpirit1963 3d ago

Definitely, Spoon should be in his repertoire.

5

u/VastUnlikely9591 4d ago

Carpenter Brut. You Sir are awesome.

I suggest-Pertubator, GOST, El Tigr3, Mega Corp.

3

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Hotline Miami player spotted (I love each artist you listed)

2

u/VastUnlikely9591 4d ago

Mr. Bungle

Melvins

3

u/Healing_For_Everyone 4d ago

Havent seen lords if acid in a while. Nice list

6

u/IntroductionOk8023 4d ago

I would dig into Queens of the Stone Age-they have strong musical skills and lyricism like a lot of bands you mentioned. The lead singer produced some songs for Arctic Monkeys so it seems it would fit. Songs for the Deaf might be a first album if you’ve not already listened to them

3

u/breakfastburrito24 4d ago

This was my thought especially with NIN and SOAD on there. Think it would be right up OP’s alley.

Would also recommend Them Crooked Vultures

3

u/PetahTheHoaseIsHeah 4d ago

Ninja WHAT PARTY?!

4

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Ninja I'll-tell-you-when-you're-older Party

1

u/PetahTheHoaseIsHeah 4d ago

Ninja hows-your-father party (British euphemism, for the uninitiated)

5

u/_illusion_and_dream_ 4d ago

They’re awesome 🤣 check out ā€œwelcome to my parents’ houseā€

3

u/volmeistro 4d ago

LimitSwitch might be up your alley since you like tool and deftones

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Oh absolutely, I'm a fan of this and can see how it's related. Added them, thank you.

At first I thought it was funny that the guy in the pic has a Tool shirt on, then those drawn out vocals came out...really cool how you can hear the influence everywhere.

I do wish this was mixed a bit better to hear the vocals more forward though.

3

u/Hychus232 4d ago

Super based having Depeche Mode so high. Also Valve orchestra? Tf2, portal, half life kind of Valve??

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

That one was a weird one to pop up. I do listen to a couple Portal songs every now and then but I know Valve ended up on the list because I got tipsy with my boyfriend and started ranking all the tracks of Fight Songs in a long talk. Then some of them popped up on shuffle and I never skipped them LOL

Mother Mother is an awesome band!

Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground - Self-titled

2

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Oh hell yeah, I love this so far thank you so so much!

2

u/Own-Marionberry-7578 4d ago

Since you like Blue Stahli, try Circle of Dust and Celldweller.

2

u/thesillysimon 4d ago

You should listen to Swans they are quite similar to Glass Animals because they are both named after animals

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

This made me laugh. Sure why the hell not

I'd have to be in the mood for this kind of thing but I dig it

2

u/mrsweisz 4d ago

I love it, I’m an ALL OVER & EVERYWHERE music style too! My recent favorite is Noga Erez, specially her Vandalist (Against All the Machines version) album. Her videos of live sessions are amazing!

I also recently had a Beck resurgence era, and my fave song of this period was Go It Alone.

And the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (look in Spotify for playlists of their Hidden In Pieces tour)

2

u/ButteredBread201 4d ago

One of my friends who is a fan of Poor Man's Poison got me into a band called Self. Theyre an indie pop rock band though. You might like them.

2

u/evilfuckinwizard 4d ago

You don't want them sledgin' your name when they find you face-dowwnnnn... on the muddy siiide of town

2

u/evilfuckinwizard 4d ago

POOR MAN'S POISON MENTIONED šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

2

u/WangoMcTango 4d ago

I think you could use some Pearl Jam in your life!

2

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

I grew up listening to their hits, but I need to actually sit down and listen to their albums in full and absorb the lyrics! My bf was shocked I didn't know what Jeremy was about at all (probably because I am typically the one more likely to read lyrics than him) and had me listen more closely. I need to delve deeper for sure

2

u/Obi-two034 4d ago

i've listened to like a third off all the bands on there. I say it is an amazing tast in music

2

u/CucumberAcrobatic916 4d ago

I am also a music is everywhere kind of person, I see a lot of groups I like in your list....however-

I'm unfortunately going to be that person (ie the sleep token) pusher.... I swear you have to listen to their songs a few times to really get the vibe but I promise you will find at least one of their songs to be enjoyable. They dont really stick with one genre in their music... so its easy to find something for everybody. Even if its just the Carameldansen version of their song Caramel šŸ˜‚

2

u/Any_Barracuda7686 4d ago

Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, The Oh Sees, Melvins, The Cramps, Primus

Bad Omens ā¤ļø

2

u/Great_Membership_484 4d ago

Yes. Love new Specter!

2

u/im-a-goner- 4d ago

Mother Mother, Carpenter Brut AND NSP?! This person fucks!

Ever try Twenty One Pilots? I recommend their newest tracks Drum Show and the Contract

2

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

I randomly have Friend Please on my lists since forever, other than that not really! I've heard their discography is very diverse, adding them to rotation. The vocals aren't really my thing but as a Mother Mother fan sometimes the singer is an acquired taste, so I'll poke around other albums and see what clicks :)

2

u/rabid_lamb 4d ago

Modest Mouse

Built to Spill

Fleet Foxes

Ozric Tentacles

2

u/SyrupyMolassesMMM 4d ago

Youre light on electronic music but have an interest in daft punk; how about Justice?

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Immediately clicked on their Tame Impala collab, oh hell yes. This stuff is gorgeous. Now listening to Afterimage

I love a lot of electronic stuff, though usually more harsh sounds like drum and bass (Glitch Mob, Pendulum) and synth stuff like Carpenter Brut, KMFDM, etc! This more floaty sounding music is great when I'm in the mood though, thank you!

1

u/SyrupyMolassesMMM 4d ago

Nice! Heading to their concert in November so Im psyched :) their first two albums are just wall to wall bangers. Every single song is iconic…

2

u/Subject_Fruit_4991 4d ago

1

u/That_Confidence4160 4d ago

1

Try the following bands.....

The Lee Harvey Oswald Band

u/Fluid_Cup8329 4d ago

Sounds like you should dive into more 80s music

Try this one

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Keep in mind this is just from the last six months, not my whole listening life! I love Japan, this song is a classic

1

u/Fluid_Cup8329 4d ago

I would like to suggest Kaskade and Kx5 since you like deadmau5

Twelve foot ninja due to Linkin Park, Tool, and Red Hot Chili Peppers (LP because of the genre fusing, too because prog, RHCP because funky)

And Bent Knee due to Deftones and Tool

Oh and flying lotus because of gorillaz

I can suggest specific songs if you like

Edit: just noticed nsp... šŸ˜Ž nice

I'm an unsigned indie artist, you might dig my vibes.... Imago - Schiz The Gaffer Here's a release from February this year.

1

u/Joshua_Punkhead 4d ago

I've always wanted to go to a System of a Down concert

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

They're my top band because I'm going through a nostalgia phase right now. It's entirely a coincidence that they're touring currently, and I am crossing my fingers they decide to play a bit closer some day!

1

u/MarucaMCA 4d ago

Laibach, especially "Spectre"

1

u/analcackle 4d ago

You very much need DEVO in your life.

1

My Morning Jacket! Just trust me here when I say this, because as a music purist like most of us you’re gonna hate this: start with a live album. Okonokos. Listen all the way thru that and if you dig then dive into the catalog. It’s extensive.

1

u/Great_Membership_484 4d ago

Electric Callboy, Bring Me The Horizon and as another said Bad Omens.

1

u/Repulsive-Idea-4509 4d ago

Some of Fish in a Birdcage's stuff may be something you'd like, or Shayfer James as well

1

u/WaltBailey 4d ago

Nu metal and some great pop! Also tf2 music (probably) I approve although I only have a passing interest in most of these things (except SOAD and nine inch nails as NIN is my favourite band)

1

u/The_Mellow_Tiger 4d ago

Foals. You won’t be disappointed

1

u/Hookxd 4d ago

I recommend Chikoi the maid

1

u/druumer89 4d ago

Oceansize, Porcupine Tree, Umphreys Mcgee

1

u/kit_kaboodles 4d ago

Ninja sex party actually made me think of another band that might be a good suggestion for you. Try checking out Machine Gun Fellatio. They've got a fun vibe that matches a lot of your list here.

1

u/sora_allite 4d ago

Thank you so much for adding more on my music plate. I've been rotating a lot of old favorites recently so new things are appreciated!

I see 10cc in there, have you tried Godley and Creme? 2 of the original band members who left to form their own thing. Their first album Consequences in mind blowing and the others are no slouches.

1

u/Kathalia 2d ago

We have quite some artists in common and I really like Ghost, so I’d recommend listening to them!

1

u/Plus_Tumbleweed_8456 2d ago

The beths, S.karma

1

u/ProgRockDan 4d ago

Looks a little narrow to me. No bluegrass, no jazz, no classical, no ….

4

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

You're right. It's also missing swing, reggae, ska, rap, breakcore, sludge...

1

u/mybadalternate 4d ago

Just listen to Mr. Bungle… that covers like 3/4 of those genres.

2

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

Update: I need more than ten minutes for this holy shit. This is the kind of music you need to process existing thank you for the journey

2

u/External-Cherry7828 4d ago

Well when you're done you should check out a couple of their side projects Tomahawk and Dillinger escape plan, they also get lumped with the butthole surfers a lot, I think it's just the sheer insanity

1

u/sugarskooma 4d ago

From all these replies I keep going "what the hell is Mr Bungle" so now it's time to check. Gimme ten minutes

1
