So, if Medusa wear sunglasses, she can avoid turning people to stone? We know that her powers don't work through reflection.

Medusa's powers in modern stories are always rather weird, because she doesn't really have powers in the original. She's just cursed to be so ugly, that anyone who looks at her is petrified. Most authors throw something with a reflection in there, but they can't even decide if looking at her through a reflection is safe, or if she gets defeated because she looks at her own reflection.

That’s the thing. We know anyone who looks at her face turns to stone; but looking at her reflection saves you from that fate.
It was then understood that it is her very gaze that petrifies.
My head-cannon is that you have to share a gaze with her to be turned to stone, and thus make a connection with her.
You know, when you look at a stranger from afar, and suddenly they look up and return you that gaze? That small jolt you get then? That’s what turns you to stone with Medusa.
Also, that would explain why the mirror trick works: if you look at her reflexion, Medusa still looks at you, then no “dread petrifying connection”… but if she thought of looking at your reflection, then you’d be (mineral) toast.

They do work through reflection. That's literally how the story ends.

But Perseus didn't turn into stone when he was watching her through the reflection of his shield. That's how he was able to cut her head.

Medusa's entire characterization has been so changed by time and retellings that you can use her however you need in the context of your story.

Yeah. They're the same kind of Mystic Eye Concealers that Shiki Tohno uses.

If they are dark enough to totally obscure her stone vision she should be fine. Also snake eyes

The little eyes on all the snakes staring to see if he bought it! I’m dying. Genuine belly laugh. Made my day.
