So, if Medusa wear sunglasses, she can avoid turning people to stone? We know that her powers don't work through reflection.

Medusa's powers in modern stories are always rather weird, because she doesn't really have powers in the original. She's just cursed to be so ugly, that anyone who looks at her is petrified. Most authors throw something with a reflection in there, but they can't even decide if looking at her through a reflection is safe, or if she gets defeated because she looks at her own reflection.
