Greek 👌 Are there any myths about what happens to them afterwards? Probably not! Are there any myths about their actual relationship? Not that I know of! Do I still want to see someone write about the concept? YES!

So basically in the story of Pandora she's sent off to Epimetheus to be his wife as a "gift" from the gods. Prometheus warned him not to trust anything from them but he decided to accept her anyway, and Zeus (at least I think it was? It's been a hot minute) gave Pandora the box and told her not to open it.

You know how the story goes from there.

Why am I fascinated by the potential of their relationship?

Epimetheus lost all three of his brothers, two in the titan war, and one trying to help his creations, and was basically alone now. Then all of a sudden the gods give him and wife and he wasn't alone anymore and said wife was given a gift of her own in the shape of a box that they told her not to open. Unfortunately for her, game was rigged from the start (at least in the version I know about) cuz the gods were the ones who gifted her curiosity for the sole purpose of opening that box up.

Neither of them did anything against them, and yet they were both doomed by them. Epimetheus losing his brothers and Pandora made to unleash calamity onto the world and especially Epimetheus and Prometheus' creations.

I frankly find the potential for a tragic love story fascinating. Sort of a "even if the world is against them they still have each other" vibe

It was technically a jar.

The box itself was a later invention.

Well, it doesn’t focus entirely on them, but George o’Connor’s Olympians comics have a different narrator for each book/god. And the reveal at the end of Hephaestus’ is that the narrative was a bedtime story Epimetheus is telling his and Pandora’s kid.

Also, spoiler for Hades II, but got a slight chuckle out of the fact that Dora describes him as “hunky” when she gets her memories back.
