Tyson tired himself out bobbing and weaving well outside of Paul's reach when he wasn't being punched at. Paul threw a couple punches then ran away anytime Tyson tried to engage. Boring as hell for all the shit they both talked leading up to it. Neither of them actually wanted a fight. Marvelous money grab though. No one will trust netflix with a live event ever again. Thankfully it didn't ruin anything that would have been watchable otherwise.
I agree with pretty much everything except the assertion that Tyson, after 6+ months of training, tired himself out with the bob and weave, and a few punches. BS. The dude barely broke a sweat. I was surprised when he seemed exasperated after the 6th and 7th when he practically just stood there. Then, like clockwork, picked up his footwork and speed only in the 7th and 8th round without making an actual fight to the finish. This was bought, and badly played out. F Netflix.
He had bursts where he would kick his legs, but he barely made it out of his corner before the last round. He was gassed. What you saw in the 7th and 8th was pure will. If you were lucky enough to have decent quality on your stream you'd seen after the fight when they did closeups for the interviews he was covered in huge beads of sweat which popped right back up even after he wiped them with a towel. And when they clenched at the end of the 8th he was pouring sweat. Maybe it was more widely known but I didn't pay much attention in the lead-up to the fight, but the one interesting thing that the announcers pointed out were the two stipulations Paul insisted on: heavier gloves and a bigger ring.
