For me , it’s the “burn after reading “ letter . They should be jailed .

The “burn after reading” letter actually implies that she did NOT know he’d killed anyone. It talks only about hypothetical situation where he might need that assist. If she knew, and if she believed he’d burn the letter, she would have referred to the murder directly.
