Just from the videos of them alone, excluding any editing or framing by the documentary, they seem like terrible people…it’s like he came home, told them, and then they proceeded to cover for him…regardless of what the lawyer told them to do, that looks awful

I wonder if they ever considered being on the other side - frantically searching for your child and the one person who could give you answers lawyered up and wouldn't say a word. They treated her family so callously. It's sad that they did that because they could at least have a relationship with him in jail.

The mom definitely didn’t. She was jealous of Gabby and seems to have been enmeshed with her son and some pretty narcissistic behavior.

I was thinking the same thing, especially with the “Burn After Reading” letter to Brian. She made it obvious they had this sick mother/son enmeshment making it make more sense or how they refer to a situation Gabby talked about to her mom in the docu- Roberta throwing a tantrum at the dinner table, making Gabby feel uncomfortable so much so that she can't even walk by without feeling unwelcomed or fearful that she's gonna snap on her. Ultimately, manipulating her with guilt.

They seem to really exhibit the self-centered behavior, how they keep even now - turning conversations to themselves like they are the real victims- even between their texts how they dismissed the reality when Brian went “missing” and just how she seemed to act by feeling inconvenienced by him trying to be a grown adult. Ultimately, she was the one enabling Brian to become this monster.

The mother side shows some narcissistic behavior and characteristics. The way the doc described her behavior towards Gabby, I bet she’d fit right in over at r/justnomil

I just wondered if they ever considered that they could then be aiding and abetting…all the post death events are so intriguing…like his whole family went camping, his mom managed to fake out all the people staking out the house to get him out, and then how he was almost nothing but bones (or at least the doc made it seem like that) after the flood and recovery

I would love to know what the attorney told them to do!

I just read through post mortem docs for him and he was definitely just bones and a small amount of cartilage when he was found. It sounded like his body was under water and that animals also helped speed up decomp. I'm sure the humidity played a role too.

Heat plays a major role along with the fact that he wasn’t buried or placed in any kind of containment that would slow it down. But animals didn’t speed up actual decomp - they likely ate as much the meat off his bones as possible, and he wasn’t a large guy to begin with, so they probably ate most soft tissue that was there. If you haven’t watched any Nat Geo scenes of animals eating, it’s not pretty, and they usually don’t leave much like they’re going to come back for it later. Then vultures probably took care of what was left or consumed him along with the land animals & rodents - they can pick up that scent from very far away, are also very quick eaters, and I’ve seen close to 10 vultures at one time on a large animal like deer on the side of the road.
