I genuinely and with my entire heart hope they never have a moment of peace again in their lives.

they won't. and btw, they knew he was going to kill himself. that contrived "search" was so cringe, especially with their stupid dated covid masks.

I agree. I believe they assisted him with getting out of the home knowing he was going to end his life. The mother gloated about sneaking him out in front of surveillance. The way they found his waterproof bag and then his remains so quickly. They were so casual about it because they had already come to terms with it. It was just another way they assisted him in avoiding facing his consequences. It fits with everything else his parents did. They didn’t report him missing despite knowing he had went “hiking” and that the vehicle he was driving was ticketed in the area. They picked up the vehicle. He was missing for 3-4 days before they reported it. Just based on their behavior if they thought he was going on the run I don’t think they ever would have reported him missing. Either that or they believed he was going to run and then when they found his vehicle they knew he didn’t get far on foot. However, I strongly believe they were aware and assisted with the suicide plot.
