Recommendation The lincoln lawyer is sooooooo underrated!!!!!!!

Idk why people dont talk about this show its soo good. Like each season has its own crazy story and plotlinee like i cant believe the plot twist this show has. I want more people to talk about this show and i cant wait for s4 its such a long wait.

It’s cause you didn’t watch it when it was released. It’s always in top 10 too

8

u/KoreyReviewsIronFist Jul 06 '25

It’s a Netflix original; so simultaneous worldwide release

5

u/im_a_reddituser Jul 06 '25

Both the Lincoln Lawyer and Bosch are based on a series of books by Michael Connelly that are very readable, and the execution of both series really captures the book characters and are overall very well executed, though they do take liberties with the plots.

So I definitely recommend the books as well.

Comparing the Bosch books and TV series, I like how they remix many of the case details and outcomes. The stories are familiar enough to be recognizable, but the story unfolds differently making the show not feel completely predictable.

I wonder if they did that for practical reasons, namely that Titus Welliver isn't getting any younger and is really starting to show his age in Legacy, so they knew from the start that they had a limited run available to them no matter how popular it got. It forced them to compact the years of his career into fewer seasons.

Maybe. But Bosch is in his 40s in the first book, so he's never exactly young. That has to be part of the reason they accelerated his marriage and Maddie's birth independent from the books that happens in.

I just finished the first Renee Ballard (Michael Connelly) book; The Late Show. WOW. What a great story. I would love to see this made into a mini-series.

It’s actually a new series premiering July 9 on Amazon :)

Needs to get back to doing clever lawyer shit and way less ex wife and personal drama. Couldn’t even finish season 2.

100%...I finished it, but I FFed through the "relationship" scenes

It took me a few episodes to warm up to the new Lincoln lawyer because Matthew McConaughey absolutely blew it out of the park in the movie, but once I got over that, MAN. Love every minute.

u/Gezzer52 Jul 07 '25

For me it was less that and the fact that McConaughey's character was down on his luck, living and practicing from his older boat of a Lincoln. That's why everyone called him the Lincoln lawyer AFAIK.

Where as Netflix's version hints about a sordid past, but the guy lives in an expensive LA hills house and is driven around in a cherry older Lincoln. Or for a change of pace he's driven around in a new top of the line SUV Lincoln. So I consider the series less of a Lincoln lawyer one and just a really good lawyer show, with nice cars...

2

u/jeremiah1142 Jul 07 '25

Ah I see where you’re coming from. I just pictured them both as lawyers driven around in their Lincolns because they lost their drivers license. Then they kept their drivers once they got their license back. Of course the TV show became a shameless showcase for Lincoln.

I thought him and Marisa Tomei's chemistry was insane in the movie...that isn't the case with Neve Campbell in the series.

It's good, it has a vibe to it.

I love it. I download it too and listen to it in the car. I never tire of the jokes, personalities, plots. I never tire of it!

That chick is way too hot for the creepy weirdo guy.

5

u/anonymous_teenage Jul 06 '25

Definitely but he is pretty cool

1

u/Lildicky91 Jul 06 '25

He’s honestly the worst part of the show for me. He just doesn’t fit, he’s not intimidating at all, he’s just weird looking.

Not an underrated show though, It’s usually around 10-15th in views in the 6month engagement reports for Netflix. Might not be talked about but definitely doesn’t mean it’s not popular.

4

u/manager12345678 Jul 06 '25

Agreed, he just doesn't fit the part at all

2

u/Cultural-Voice423 Jul 07 '25

Yeah how did Sisco get that? He must have unique talents

1

u/Any_Listen_7306 Jul 07 '25

This is Cisco yes?

4

u/CCriscal Jul 06 '25

It is really fun. The only nagging point is that almost everyone is great looking as if that mattered more than a fun story. Reminded me of Smallville in that sense.

I feel it’s good becuase we barely ever get full series court trials. If we do it’s in small spurts in other shows

1

1

u/LiangHu Jul 07 '25

its not bad, my dad actually really enjoyed this show, I found it solid

1

u/AlkahestGem Jul 07 '25

The same author, Michael Connelly, wrote the Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer books. The characters are actually half brothers.

Unfortunately because Netflix has the rights for the latter and Prime for the former, there will never be a crossover -

1

u/Comprehensive-Way482 Jul 07 '25

Yes, very few talk about it.

1

u/Fluffy_Macaroon3956 Jul 07 '25

I agree! It's a great show, need season 4 !!!!

1

u/PixiePower65 Jul 08 '25

Love this show. When in bed season out.

Thinking I should watch Boche. Heard there is some crossover?

1

u/Frank3634 Jul 08 '25

Yeah it was good better than most Netflix. Not on par with Ozark and some others.

1

u/Sure-Chemistry837 Jul 08 '25

Such a great show! Looking forward to season 4!

1

u/The-Sugarfoot Jul 08 '25

It's very highly rated show in the USA

1

u/bryanthehorrible Jul 11 '25

I'm watching for the first time too and glad to know that I'm not the only one late to the party

1

u/OddPlane6043 Aug 02 '25

I completely agree!

No it isn’t..

0

u/ArtisticArnold Jul 07 '25

You mean that you liked it? Just say that.

Stop using the term under rated.

I just finished the first season, it’s pretty mediocre, slightly above average. The directing is so bad, it’s the main thing holding the show back.
