Question The Household shit is so infuriating

Was just trying to watch Netflix AT HOME on my account. My mother and I both use this account, we live together but we both travel a lot. Now I'm unable to watch on my own account at home because it's not part of this household? It's also not giving me the option to change this setting anywhere.

Logged in now to my account through the code and it's not giving me the option to adjust my household even?

Update: I contacted support and they told me to use the temporary code and that after 14 days all devices will be seen as trusted?

I did mention that it's separate locations but me and my mother are still the ones using this account. I don't use a Smart TV at home tho so that's why I can't set this place as my temporary location.

The whole policy is penny wise, pound foolish. So much trouble for paying customers. If they want to build up business, they should try making a better product with better content.

I've never had any of this. Do you and your mother have separate profiles. What devices do you watch on. You should be allowed a number of devices regardless of where you are watching, as long as you have wifi. Does your mother ever alter the settings?

We use separate profiles yes, I watch on my tablet usually. She watches on the tv here using a streaming stick or on her boyfriends smart tv, which is what Netflix bow set as the household location.

It's not about the settings it's just Netflix's new thing to prevent account sharing, but it obviously works like shit cause why doe we now need multiple accounts for ine household?

If I were you, I would change your location to your own address as it is your account, and make sure you request notifications for anyone wanting to add devices, or locations, ie you are the only one who has control (they send you a code). Also, if there is a problem with devices, then you do not have to provide the Netflix for her boyfriend. Unless they are all contributing to the cost of the subscription. Just saying.
