At its finest? Far, far from it. What would you call people who string up live dogs and skin them as they hang helpless? Because that shit happens on fur farms. This is just an ignorant pet owner feeding a live rodent to a predator that would naturally hunt this rodent for food in the wild. Yes sometimes the rodent can defend itself with lethal force, and should at least be stunned so that it can't fight back. But definitely not cruelty at its finest. And some snakes simply won't eat the already dead feeder mice, even if you warm them up.

I agree with this other person. It's a bad practice for an owned snake but not inherently cruel by any means.

You have to wonder if this is a poisonous type snake...did it poison itself? I've read it rare but there is a possibility...

Venomous

Idk, the snake might be worried about being both right about then

You actually don't have to wonder when the Internet is at your fingertips. It's not some great mystery what kind of snake this is lol

Too stupid to live in nature.

u/Jaggedatlas 5d ago

Hmm almost like thatโ€™s one of the risks of live feeding and why ya shouldnโ€™t do it. Reptiles get hurt. Fancy that

Mouse was like itโ€™s my crib now

u/Equal_Sprinkles2743 5d ago

"Oh crap. I hope I'm not poisonous." ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Use dodge!;

albino snakes and oddly colored ones are extremely inbred and probably got literal rocks for brains because of it. Extremely stupid thanks to humans who prefer pretty snakes over morals.

u/CloudEpik 3d ago

Ok but like... Can't they feel it???? Doesn't the braincell go "mmhmm, this doesn't feel like a ra.... WAIT A MINUTE" and let go??

1

u/ItsaPostageStampede 3d ago

With live feeding there are times where the snake does get injured by the prey. It really isnโ€™t good practice

1

u/CloudEpik 3d ago

Ooh i see! Makes sense tbh. I wonder if they play like cats do to get enrichment.

u/Environmental-Tea294 3d ago

My children's python has done this. Dead pinky right in front of her and she just.. misses. Talk about a stressful 10 minutes trying to unhook her teefs without hurting her. (She was fine, ate the pinky right after)

1

u/TiBun 3d ago

This makes me wonder (in general) if venomous snakes are immune to their own venom.

Snake: Hey guy whatโ€™s your favorite anime?
Rodent: Full Metal Alchemist.
Snake: Yo humunculi for like bruh.
