fastlege- what does fast translate to in this context? a doctor that's close by (local)? i'm assuming it's not an almost doctor lol (i'm aware it's a GP)

in the sense that its your permanent doctor

I would say fast translates to "constant" in this constant. This is because the fastlege is the lege you always go to when you visit the doctor. Unless you go to the hospital, but even then, you are usually referred by the fastlege.

thank you! deepl failed me then. deepl only offered me "almost, near, nearly". but constant makes more sense.

If it’s any help, “fast” can also mean “stable, constant, unmoving” in English. See definition #1 here: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fast. This meaning is also reflected in the English word “fasten.”

thank you, i immediately connected it to "fest" in german, but fasten is also great!
