Is this a TestFlight problem or? And if it’s not, is it even possible to have one device on normal mode and the others on TestFlight? 🤔

I really dislike when I get a new journal that comes with stickers but I can only use the stickers as png and not even add it to my sticker pack. Please please pleaseee

Hey there. I’ve been on the phone with my daughter at college, she downloaded this app for notetaking today, and after use in class received a message that she was out of storage or something like that. I guess she was then prompted to complete the subscription purchase which she attempted to do. However, the purchase will not go through. It keeps saying that there’s something wrong with the connection? But her Wi-Fi is working and she can do everything else. Also, when we rebooted in an attempt to troubleshoot it, it only allowed her to select the cheapest option. The other two subscription options were grayed out. She’s very frustrated, is trying to purchase this app for use in class, and cannot figure out what’s wrong. If anybody has any insights on something we could check or try, it would be greatly appreciated! It’s very hard for me to troubleshoot this with her remotely. She’s not very tech savvy lol

Hello! I’m working on my notes through Notability and I am really missing the capability to have more than 8 color swatches on fast access.

I personally use 4 standard “darker” pens (Black, Blue, Red and Green) to write general stuff, 2 tones of gray for small side notes and another set of lighter colors (Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange and Green) to make pointing notes, remarks, signals, etc.

I feel it pretty boring that my full palette can’t fit the fast colors and I have to manually grab some of them whenever I have to change.

I can’t see any reason why it would be of technical benefit to limit to only eight fast swatches.

I’ve been using notability since 11th grade (2022) and recently turned off iCloud sync from my iPhone after I got a notification that iCloud was full. I turned it off thinking it’ll remain on my iPad and all my notes literally vanished 😭 I’m panicking and I don’t know what to do!!

I contacted Apple and they couldn’t do anything since I have no backups. All my dividers and subject names are still there; they’re just empty.

Please help 😭

I am having trouble with syncing across devices. I can make a note, folder, etc. on my macbook and it will show up on ipad, but not vice versa. This is driving me crazy!

I’ve been a big fan of N’bility for a long time, but am less than wowed with updates and ignoring more practical features for AI. I’m wondering what I’m missing on competitor’s apps. I use Goodnotes but find some of that clunky as well. Other suggestions to test drive?

Anyone know how to fix? Happened with the mac update. I tried deleting, redownloading, then resyncing notes without any luck.

Context: I just recently purchased an iPad Pro to use for note taking in classes. I used to use Notability on my Mac and iPhone, where my notes would sync through iCloud and all of my notes would update on both devices.

On my iPad however, the Notability app is not giving me the option in settings under “connected services” to sync with iCloud. I am still able to see this option on both my Mac and my iPhone, which leads me to believe this has to be a bug.

Because I am not able to see this option and sync my notes that I’ve taken on my iPad with iCloud, my up-to-date notes that I have taken on my iPad will not sync with/update on my Mac/iPhone, and I am unable to access said updated notes on those devices.

So the notes that I do have backed up on my iCloud are from when I took notes on my Mac/iPhone, therefore they aren’t up to date with what I have on my iPad. I’m inclined to believe that this is because I don’t have the option on my iPad to sync my new notes with iCloud to update my notes.

I have already contacted support about this as well as submitted my email with it. I just figured bringing attention to this complication under the subreddit might would speed up the process of resolving it.

How do you guys feel about the new more simplistic app logo?

For some reason everytime I try to import a pdf file it says import failed. It was working weeks ago

I have so many stickers of diagrams I've made over the years as a teacher and I still can't organised them past "favourite". This means I have to scroll through every sticker I've ever made to find the one I need. Why is this not a feature when it used to exist in the past. I remember being able to go into the shop and get sticker packs. I still have some of these and they are organised in their own little sections but I can't do this for my own...

This and the superior laser pointer tool on Goodnotes is making me swap and I hate it because I've been such a Notabilty die hard...

What happened to the time stamps? I no longer see timestamps that can take me to specific parts of the audio. I paid subscription literally for this feature. Please someone tell me how I can access the timestamps.

Is there a bug with the pricing of the pro ? Because that’s 110$ more for « AI » stuff

I’m trying to add a gif to my note, but when I hit the + in the toolbar no gif option shows up. Am I missing something? I did it a few semesters ago but can’t now.

I have the notability app on my iPad, Mac, and iPhone. Signed into the same iCloud account on all three. Everything syncs normally between the iPad and Mac, but on my iPhone, only folder sync but not the notes themselves.

For example, if I create a folder "Folder A" and within it a note "Note A" on my iPad, on my iPhone, it will sync the folder so that I can see "Folder A", but the note does not appear.

I have made sure iCloud sync is turned on (and it is on because the folders are syncing).

Has anyone else experienced this problem in Notability? 1. When I click through multiple documents, the file titles overlap and become blurry, like the title from the first document is layered on top of the next one. 2. Renaming a file is also buggy. When I press backspace, the cursor moves but the letters aren't actually removed. Only after hitting enter does the file name update correctly.

I have the latest notability version, even after a clean install the problem persists. Mac is a 2019 Macbook Pro is with the latest available OS.

Is this happening for anyone else?

I used the "Data Loss" flair because that's what the data syncing/backup problems are causing. I've already experienced this some time ago due to full local iPad storage (this is a known bug, Notability notes crash/stop saving if you don't have enough local storage despite the absence of any warning this may be happening).

At that point, I was turning iCloud syncing on and off to try to resolve the syncing glitch, as advised by the website, but what actually happened was all my notes were erased from local storage and iCloud was unable to restore them, so I ended up uploading everything one by one from Google backup. I was really annoyed but fine, whatever.

This time, however, it seems like iCloud is trying to sync but is completely stuck at about 25% (based on the loading symbol next to the settings icon) and no new notes are populating. While this attempted sync is going on, I am unable to access Google Drive backups to upload them into the notes. Checking on my iCloud account reveals 4.8 GB of Notability data stored in iCloud.

What is the problem and how can I fix it? I am super super wary of resetting iCloud in case it permanently deletes everything, and at this point, I'm also worried my Google backups aren't totally bug-safe either.

Notability offered me to "Learn more" or to "Accept" the new Privacy Policy that they have.

I decided to learn more to know what I am to accept and I am happy that I have.

Under "Personal Data"/"Categories of Personal Data We Collect" you can read:

"This chart details the categories of Personal Data that we collect and have collected over the past 12 months".

Tables lists "types of data", "why they want it" and "who they share it with".

And it includes all kinds of rubbish like identifiers, ip addresses, geolocation, web analytics and others to be shared with third parties and for purposes such as advertising and analytics.

Seriously? If I pay you for the service you provide then this is not how this works. Definitely not without an obvious and clear way where I can "refuse" providing personal information.

So despite having some months of an active subscription I have exported my notebooks as PDFs and deleting my account.

Making this post for people who may care about that kind of information but did not check what they are being offered to accept.

I’m currently using Notability for school on my personal iPad with my personal Apple ID and syncing it to my own iCloud. I was wondering if many people do this, or if it’s generally better to use a separate iCloud account for school.

I have been waiting for Notability to come up with some real updates for over an year. But all we are getting is some AI updates which I have never found useful (and I think a lot of us do not).

There is so much scope for improvement. Even if they include a graphing software in their current repertoire, that alone would be a massive improvement. Or the ability to run HTML code (so that we can embed webapps in our notes). But no. AI AI AI!!

Hi! I’ve been loving the notability app so far and am still figuring it out and I would need some help. I’ve encountered a challenge: i already wrote text and wanted to insert pictures next to some paragraphs, but the text always jumps down, wherever I move the picture. I can’t make them stay next to each other.

I don’t understand why this hasn’t been implemented yet. Why can’t 1 page be lined and the next be blank or graphed?

This is the only reason why I haven’t returned to Notability.
