Are you ever touching the previous layers with your hand? It looks like you are, sometimes. Do you wait until the previous paint is completely dry?

Yes but I paint thin and with liquin which speeds drying time so they are usually dry to the touch by the next day.

It makes me so happy to see people like you who actually put in so much time, effort, and love into a good painting, instead of just typing a command into a glorified toaster to generate a fake image. Very well done!!

Just when you think it can’t get any more detailed, they go back in with an EVEN SMALLER BRUSH. 🥹

Boy oh boy I wish I could learn to do this. I feel like 80% of learning it would be practice and dedication, but that 20% about color theory/matching, color vs line work for certain effect, and oil layering, mixing, and tones and shades to be used where and with what technique and how much I would only confuse myself on.
You did an amazing job and even more amazingly, made it look super easy!

Thank you! I actually have tutorials that cover most that stuff. This one will eventually be turned into one, but I have a couple of others to make first

Just when I thought you were done, you add more detail I didn’t think was needed but definitely welcomed! Very well done! Beautiful work!

Thanks! That's what I like about the videos. Even when I watch it back I think that.

So cool. Weirdly, it just felt like my vision was going from trash to perfect over the course of the video.

Do you really find it odd to be satisfied in creating your art? Weird choice of sub but a great painting.

Less the art itself but watching the process. Some people say they find it calming. Thank you.

This is phenomenal. However, I wish you and other artist would spend more than three seconds showing the finished piece. It would be amazing to see it in detail and slow-mo to fully appreciated the work.

Thank you. I was just trying to make the video shorter. Less sped up would show it all better too, but I don't think people want to watch long videos.

Watching this progress from blocks of color all the way to detailed reflections and individual strands of fur catching the light is such a wonderful journey. I’ve always been both amazed and intimidated by oils. Fabulous job OP! Please continue to share your works with us!

Thank you very much. Oils just take a little getting used to but I think they're the easiest paint once you are (at least for this type of work).

That dog looks real. It’s literally jumping out of the canvas asking for a belly rub. Such talent.
I think AI will drive those with talent and drive to higher levels of excellence and mastery in their fields 🥊

Who cares? Posting your own art, especially at this level, should be shared far and wide

It's an extraordinary display of skill! But I will never quite understand the appeal of perfectly photo-realistic painting.

For paintings like these, the timelapse is not only oddly satisfying, but serves as proof that this isn’t actually a photograph??? Insane talent
