There was this mom on YouTube who I used to watch, who was always so bubbly and kind, but she HATED Caillou, she said she has to listen to the whiny Caillou voice all day 🫠 I haven't seen Caillou but I think it's like a meme at this point!

Caillou sucks because of the formula. Most episodes follow the following formula:
Caillou gets upset over something trivial and acts out, often whinin, screaming, or crying. Let's say, for this example Caillou doesn't understand the concept of waiting one's turn in a game. He's told "no, it's not your turn yet" in a game and he proceeds to have a meltdown.
Parents do nothing to reign him in, enabling his behavior l. Eventually, they explain to Caillou with all the care and intensity of someone trying to defuse a bomb/hostage negotiation what the concept of waiting for your turn is.
Caillou stares blankly, not understanding the concept. This is usually where there's an imagination sequence that only serves to inflate his perception of his own godhood/how everyone else is wrong.
Somehow, Caillou always gets his way or his behavior when acting out is redirected. An adult fixes whatever his perceived issue is and the universe bends to accommodate his will. In this case, maybe everyone plays a different game that isn't turn based. Or everyone decides to give Caillou multiple turns.
Caillou is then praised for doing the bare minimum like he just cured cancer.
It doesn't teach kids anything other than "acting out will get you what you want. Tantrums are a negotiation tool. Your parents will cave to your wishes." Which is a horrible message.

Yup. And children mimic things they see so every dang kid I've met that's ever watched a bunch of caillou whines obnoxiously and has fits where they punch the ground and kick just like he does. As much as I joke that caillou himself is a little brat lol on a real genuine deeper note, I believe the show is fundamentally flawed and would not recommend showing it to kids under age 5.

I won't lie I used to be thrilled when I knew Caillou was gonna come in when I was itty bitty. It was mostly for the art style but I also used to find his voice pretty grating

There's also one called r/fuckmindy. It's a sub about hating on an npc from pokémon's gen 4 games who scams you by asking for a meditite and in return she will give you a haunter (which evolves into a gengar when traded), so a lot of people did that because it's a free gengar and a lot of people don't have access to gengar as they don't have anyone to trade a haunter with. She trades the haunter but it's holding an everstone, an item that prevents pokémon from evolving.

I'd be Hella upset, and then be even more upset at the parents for allowing this behavior to happen
I dont care if its a Wii or a deck of cards I own, if a little shit like Cailou breaks/steals it, that whole ass family is getting rained hell on them.
It's why my partner and I are particular about who's friends with her daughter. Don't want none of the Cailou-type of kids messing around in our lives, and I dont want more time personally.
I already had 5 years of my kid life sharing living space with a low-functioning autistic man-child (who is twice my age) who behaved exactly like Cailou, and had a mom who enabled said behaviors. Im grateful I left that environment, 20 years later, and I dont ever want anyone like that in my life for a millisecond. And as someone who is also on the spectrum, I knew this sort of behavior wasnt okay, at all.

I joined that sub and left ten minutes later because all the sub is is people talking about how much they want to see him dead/how they’d kill him.
Fictional or not, he’s a kid. I think it’s kinda fucked that they’re saying this about a kid, and I’ve seen some WILD shit in the comments of that sub.
