Yep. It's pretty sad, but it's unfortunately the reason why there's lots of nsfw loli websites/artworks and they don't get taken down. It's technically legal as it's art, even if it's sexually depicting minors, the law doesn't make it illegal therefore it's not enforced.
Morally I think it's disgusting. But sadly it is legally allowed. I think some countries might have it banned but I'm not sure.

This is how I found out they wouldn't take down a rule34 sub of a Halloween character (which was a minor).
I had to submit a lot of reports with my alts for Reddit to do something at all.

Do you realize that people do not choose to be pedophiles? Just like people don't choose to be gay or trans? So the option for them to not be what they are simply doesn't exist. Therapy won't make them stop being a pedophile, though obviously if they have any urges towards real kids, therapy is necessary.

What? Pedophilia is different from being gay or trans, pedophilia is a mental illness, not a sexuality or gender identity. People can get treatment for pedophilia from therapy and medicine, we’ve seen cases of that happening. Also, pedophiles always will have the urge to hurt a child. Serial killers always start out with torturing small animals, and they almost never stop at just that.

You are conflating child sexual abusers with pedophiles which, while quite understandable, is a massive difference. Pedophilia is a paraphilia and a mental disorder, yes. Maybe I should have compared it more to Adhd. There also is no cure for it, treatment does not equal a cure. Regardless, your claim that pedophiles will always have the urge to hurt a child is wrong. It is an understandable mistake though, since the word pedophile is rarely used correctly and the topic is rarely ever discussed scientifically but almost always emotional and with hurt involved. Pedophile means someone who is primarily attracted to prepubescent children, whether they ever act upon it or not.

Actually ykw I want to rephrase my argument real quick. We haven’t seen whether watching fictional child porn actually works as an outlet or not, nor have we seen whether if it suppresses the urge of hurting actual children.
But either way, my main issue is people defending this as saying it’s not pedophilia or that it’s somehow normal behavior, and that they should be allowed to openly lust over these characters without judgement. If a pedophile is genuinely doing this for the sake of not hurting children while going to therapy, I’m fine with it.

We haven’t seen the effects of CP being an outlet but there was a study where they tried giving pedos realistic kid dolls to use. Turns out it made a few of them want the real thing even more, luckily they told the researchers this before they actually tried acting on it but the conclusion seems that the closer they get to finding an outlet means they’re more likely to want the real thing.
