What's in your go bag?
I have a go bag, but I'm having trouble finding a balance between emergency items and a glorified camping supply bag. Do I need a tarp? Probably not but what if we need a tarp? IDK. I've been thinking about these fires, but since I don't have a car I'd probably be hooped anyway, but still...what are your non-negotiables for an Okanagan bug bag?
I've been looking on Google for lists too but I'm just curious if there are any location specific things you guys focus on.

Passport. A recent utility bill (not necessary but it can be a proof of residence for when you're being let back into your home after evac.). Medications. Charging cables. Gotch, socks, tees, shorts, hoodie, jeans you won't need tonnes - just enough for a 3 day change out. Personal toiletries to stay hygienic. Pets(?), a contingency plan for fostering them - you don't have a car so... . Keep it simple and light; shopping cart stuff is cumbersome - one medium sized backpack or shoulder bag (bigger than a school bag but smaller than something you'd see a TikTok influencer lugging around telling you how to live off grid). If you're evacuated then likely a church group will be your first Goto for places to stay then city support housing and then after that you're gonna be on your own. We live in a metro area so don't worry about food and stuff - focus today on things you cannot live without daily, not for months at a time.
Hope this helps.
Footnote: start researching the community support groups for emergency type short term relief.
