Hall Rental for Wedding Reception

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations for rental space to accomodate a wedding reception for $2000 or less (ceremony will be done elsewhere). Working on compiling a spreadsheet so we can compare and narrow down our choices. Google has come up with lots of results, but looking for more personal recommendations or hidden gems.

Musts:

- Approx. 75 people
- Access to a kitchen (event will be self-catered)
- Able to serve liquor (with licence and insurance, of course)

Open to locations anywhere around Kelowna/West Kelowna, Summerland/Peachland, Penticton, Vernon or Kamloops.

Bonus points if you have any information about pricing or what they include (tables/chairs, dishes/cutlery, cleaning etc)

Thanks in advance!

My friend did her ceremony and reception at Paddle wheel Hall in vernon. Nice spot on the lake with a patio and the venue was decent. Playground there for kids too. Price looks to be within your budget https://www.vernonhallrentals.ca/

Are you a member of the Royal Cdn Legion, by chance? Or maybe another family member is?

We held a reception for our 25th anniversary at our local branch. As a member, I rented the hall for $50 (but this was several yrs ago). We hired a DJ and a caterer.

Since it was a licensed premise, we just had to obtain an event permit from the Town. Our daughter has the Serving It Right certification and ran the bar, along with an assistant. It was a "Toonie Bar". Everything $2. Not a free bar, but it will cover the costs and nobody will complain at $2 and nobody will be wasting drinks.

Depending which branch, you may be able to access the kitchen and have family/friends prepare the meal. They typically will require a deposit to ensure the facility is thoroughly cleaned the following day.

You might also have talented friends who can DJ, or take photographs.

Nobody needs to spend insane megabucks to have a great wedding!
