Osoyoos instead of Napa! Our draft itinerary:

My wife and I (from Ontario) are excited to visit the Osoyoos area in the coming weeks. This subreddit has been super helpful - and we just wanted to get some final input on how we have decided to spend our few days. We love bold tasty reds and want to really engage in the vineyards with our tastings. Here’s our itinerary - any input would be great :)

Monday Travel from Kelowna to Osoyoos Dinner @ Bear, Fish, Root & Berry

Tuesday Black Hills Estate - Ad Hoc Tasting ($30pp) Phantom Creek - Estate Tour and Tasting ($34pp) Dinner - Convivia

Wednesday Checkmate - Grandmaster Tasting ($85pp) Burrowing Owl - Tasting ($10pp) Dinner - Burrowing Owl (Sonora Room)

Thursday LaStella - Classic Flight Tasting ($10pp) Road 13 - Cave Experience ($65pp) Dinner - 15 Park Bistro

Friday Travel to Kelowna

I agree with two other comments wholeheartedly - Platinum Bench for the artisan bread, just a quick stop to grab what's available (get there early) then eat it in the car!

  • Skip Black Hills, as it ain't what it used to be since it got bought out by the Big Guys. Truly, when these corporations take over everything changes, and the grapes grown outside the winery door may not even be in the bottle on the shelf.
I would replace it with Le Vieux Pin. They are on the same road nearby, so it's in the neighborhood and the wines are fantastic.
  • I would still do Phantom Creek. Yes it's a wealthy Chinese owner (based out of Vancouver) but it is independent. It's a very impressive winery with good wines.
Enjoy!!

Adding to this - in Osoyoos make sure you visit Nk’Mip, Kismet has several of BC’s top 50 wines, and if you want to try tastings without touring, the Wine Village in Oliver is a great way to try selections from multiple vinters
