The crazy thing is, they didn’t even tell her until like two days before filming that her character was being killed off! She had just renewed her contract, so she was very caught off guard and it was a significant grieving period for her. Imagine your character dying and losing your job right when the show was at its peak. Rita’s death was one of the most shocking moments in modern TV history, definitely the craziest of the 2000s!

uj/ I really thought it would turn out that Elliot had killed her and made it look like a trinity case. They were setting it up so well with trinity not alluding to it on the table or anything and the scenes with Elliot after her death

He was creepy asf and Rita sharing her teen marriage with him had to go somewhere, the first two are easy to figure out for the writers if we’re talking about serial killer media
