This was explained OP. The sketch of the man who befriended trinity’s family was of a guy named Kyle Butler. The husband of Rita Morgan was a guy named Dexter Morgan. So they aren’t the same.

To be fair there were three sketches and clear resemblence could be seen when they are combined, and also Quinn blew it after secretly tracking down a witness that is under witness protection by FBI.

Also I think Jonah wasn’t going to snitch on Dexter anyways. Even when Quinn showed Jonah showed the picture, he was reluctant to admit it was him.

Later on we see that Jonah figured that it was Dexter and kept silent.

And only combined in one way out of a whole bunch of ways the three sketches could be. It was like playing Mr potato head with the sketches Quinn mixing and matching different features of each sketch until one of the combinations looked like Dexter.

Quinn is watching the Mitchell's outside their home, confronting Jonah at a gas station in Miami BUT they are in witness protection in NE?? Or was this before they were moved? Also once Trinity killed Rita and took off homicide just gave up searching for him, they ALL assumed he was in hiding not knowing Dexter got him
