Yes. But that is innovation in a nutshell. The next step is to make the machines at least as good as an human and then surpass. From the plough to the robot, all has gone through that process.
Hiring a human? Who will complain about their minimum wage? And needs breaks from work to eat and sleep and live? And may unionise? Too risky. This thing makes you money now.

It probably cost the company way more to build this damn thing that it would've been to just hire someone to do it.
