I’m a traveller and have been staying in Oslo over the weekend, and last night (06/09/25), I witnessed a man hitting random civilians with what looked like a metal bar, before the police detained him.

This took place in Grønland around 20:30 and I was just curious if anyone knows anything or has any information?

Hvilke butikker i Oslo er det som selger ørevarmere, typ det som ligner på headset men er til å for å varme ørene på kalde vinterdager?

Ikke visste jeg at det fantes edle metaller i Oslos parker. Noen som har erfaring med denne øvelsen?Er det next level flaskepanting? Som om ikke det var nok at søppelkasser åpnes og vendes over hele byen for å finne en flaske eller to.

Jeg ser det oftere og oftere, voksne og tilsynelatende oppegående mennesker som frakter seg selv og et barn på leid sparkesykkel. Barnet står mellom styrestanga og den voksne, liksom for å maksimere skadepotensialet ved et fall. Smakk, hodet inn i stålstanga, for deretter å bli truffet av en fullvoksen kropp bakfra. Har heldigvis ikke sett et uhell ennå, men frykter det bare er et spørsmål om tid.

Sorry to be that annoying tourist but I’ll be visiting Norway mid September and have some questions! I am trying to figure out what clothing to bring. Are locals still in shorts and tshirts these days or is it fall season pants and long sleeve layering?

I see potential rain in the forecast- is that typically some drizzle for a few hours with clearer skies the rest of the day or does it just rain consistently through the days? Do people use umbrellas or just a decent jacket?

Secondly: what’s the cigarette smoking or vaping etiquette in Oslo? Can they be purchased at a grocery store or only specific shops?

Third: stoked to do the Kolsastoppen hike- is it better to start from the Stein gard side, or the Hauger side?

I’m (35F) visiting Oslo again in about a week, finally as a single lady. I come a couple of times a year for work and I enjoy the people I meet for the most part. I’m looking to meet someone new outside of work but I’m not sure how men in Oslo will take being approached — especially because I’m not white. I don’t feel like I can ask my colleagues this, so I’m here. I’m the kind of woman that isn’t afraid to ask a man on date if I feel a connection is present, and so I let our meetings decide whether something is serious or not; I can’t say whether I want to be in a relationship or something casual until I meet a person who inspires me either way. I don’t have a type, but where I live, race is a big factor. What is the culture like? Or am I better off (safer?) using an app? Any advice appreciated!

Hi, I am confused which is the best kindergarten in oslo. My baby is four months old and someone asked me to apply right now for a place so he can go at the age of two.
