Your honest opinion please

I’m busy collaborating with my boyfriend on an artwork - we have very different styles - he mostly carves from wood, no reference, more low brow, weird and unproportional - I love it’s but it’s very different to me who is an oil painter and prosthetics artists that strives for as close realism as possible - I’m painting one of his sculptures for a upcoming exhibition and the insecurity monster is getting the better of me… the idea is for me to bring my highly detailed and realistic human skin painting to life on his oblong and unusual bust sculpt, a collaboration of two very different styles in one piece - I’m still in the process of painting but I would love some opinions please 🙏

That's Not Very Flattering

We’ve all had those moments where you’re wearing something you really love — the colors, the fit, the vibe just feels right. You feel like yourself. Confident. Comfortable.

And then someone decides to throw their opinion in: “That’s not very flattering.”

It’s wild how quickly that kind of comment can pull you out of your joy, as if what you wear is meant for someone else’s approval instead of your own. This piece came from sitting with that feeling — the way a single remark can sour something that was making you feel good.

Have you ever had someone ruin a moment like that for you?

Painted Horse on a Turkish Rug / Acrylic on wool rug /2025

This one is 150x230cm sized Turkish Bahariye (brand) made wool rug with Persian design. I used acrylic for both blacks, whites and gold but the gold is gilded one with browns. It is the second animal figure I've painted on a rug and I really appreciate comments on it. There's some white dots here and there, these are little wool fibers moved on paint after rolling it and I just unrolled for taking pictures, a gentle vacuum will take those off. Please feel free to dm for further technical details...

Just as They are - 18*24cm oil painting on canvas

This painting feels special because nothing was planned or arranged. The cherries simply fell onto the cloth and I painted them that way 🍒

Instead of chasing perfection, I kept the brushstrokes looser, painting with a little more freedom ✨

It reminds me how much beauty there is in simplicity, when things are left just as they are ❤️

I’m usually a pencil/pen/marker type of person, but I’ve been trying to get more into painting, too. It’s still wonky, but I’m working my way up!

left home after abuse and I'm scared of losing my college dream

Hi, I don't know if this will even stay up but I just need to ask somewhere.

I'm 20, studying Fine Arts in Hyderabad. After my dad died everything in my life broke. Relatives treated me like a maid... washing dishes, babysitting their kids, insulting me and my mom. They even tried to get me married off to an uncle for money.

Later things got worse at home... my dad's brother harassed me, showed me things I didn't want to see, and when I resisted, he and another man beat and touched me. When I told my mom, she asked me to stay quiet because "they are helping us." That was the point I packed and left.

Right now I don't have a fixed place. Some nights I stay at a friend's, some nights nowhere. I'm trying to continue college but I'm really scared I'll lose it. I already missed classes once, got debarred, and paid fines to continue.

I'm not here for pity, I just need help to survive and keep my dream alive. If anyone knows:

Safe hostels / PGs for girls in Hyderabad

Any part-time jobs students can do

Or if someone can help me with a laptop (I really need it for my art assignments)

Even a small lead would mean a lot.

Thanks for reading
