First bit of good news in 4 months.

I just finished my 5th round of FOLFIRINOX (1st at 100%, previous provider was going between 80-90%) and still little side effects. I started Neulasta on Friday so I’m not sure if that’s why I’ve felt a bit more run down this weekend, or if the move to 100% was the cause.

On to the good news. Last week I had my first scan since starting chemo and it showed no spread and a 10% reduction in tumor size, with improvement in vein/artery encasement. I’m know that’s not a huge change but it was amazing for me and my family.

It is huge! I am so glad to know it is working. Fingers crossed for a bigger response in the next scan

Thank you. I didn’t realize the other team wasn’t giving me a full dose.

I hate chemo week but this is going to make it way more bearable. 😀

Great! Have you consulted with one of the four surgeons often mentioned on here: Dr. Truty at Mayo, Dr. Chabot at Columbia, Dr. Wolfgang at NYU, or Dr. Evans at Froedert Medical College in Milwaukee?

I have not, I’m waiting to see with the multidisciplinary board says here. I’m at UCHealth In CO and I’ve read several posts about people traveling out of state for the surgeons here due to their aggressive surgeries.

Im also reaching out to a couple of nanoknife surgeons once I have that data.

Just saw your response and it made me think of this from Dr Truty recently.

Regular surgery would be my first choice but if that’s never possible what can it hurt to try another route?

I believe my mom is only getting 75%-80% but she’s 79 years old, and prior to diagnosis she was type 2 and anemic. So every single infusion week seems like we’ve been finding some new weird responses to the Folfrinox as well as the steroids, they also reduced that and I guess the amount of sugar water that they infused with chemo. We just completed infusion #6 and PET Scan is next week to see how she is responding! I sincerely hope she has a response much like yours; she does have Mets to liver and possibly her colon as well. So happy for your news! Definitely take every positive thing as a huge win with this devastating cancer. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you and I’m hoping for the best for your mom. It was a huge relief for all of us. At least a few weeks reprieve from the constant negative feedback.

For some reason I’m more depressed and unable to stop thinking about my impending death than before the positive news.
