Help UK-based PayPal Credit default
I hope I can explain this clearly.
I got PayPal Credit years ago and set up direct payments from my bank. At some point the payments stopped going through, but neither PayPal nor my bank notified me.
Because of this, I’ve defaulted on the credit account. I can’t see the account anywhere on PayPal and the default doesn’t even show on Experian. When I called, they said they had sent me several letters — but I’ve never received anything. My details are up to date, and even when they said they’d resend months ago, nothing came.
Now my PayPal account is frozen. I can’t use it, and I can’t pay off the debt because I don’t have the account details, can’t pay online, and they don’t seem able to help me over the phone.
I’m trying to clear all my debts before the new year, and I’d really like to sort this one out so I can use PayPal again.
Has anyone else experienced this? What can I actually do to pay this off if PayPal won’t send me the info?
TL;DR: Had PayPal Credit years ago, payments stopped without me knowing, defaulted but can’t see the account anywhere, never got the letters, and PayPal won’t give me details to pay it off. PayPal account is frozen and I just want to clear the debt — what should I do?

If it was that long ago, your PayPal account is probably permanently closed. They usually close the account and turn over delinquent balances to a debt collection company around 120 days after the situation starts.
You can keep trying to get information from them, but short of being contacted by a debt collector there's not much else you can do if they can't help you.

Abbreviations used in /r/PayPal:
Posts about PayPal's policies will be removed. No more complaining about PayPal policy and their taking funds from your account for violations of rules. If you don't like the rules don't use PayPal. If you don't want to lose money, don't leave funds in your PayPal account. Simple as that. But these posts are often political or misleading. So no more posts on this subject!
