Sun protection
I've been told my child (3yrs old) will be sensitive to the sun and burn easily due to her chemo. From your experiences, are we talking rash guards and long sleeves all summer? Specific UV protection clothing? Or just make sure to lather her up in sunscreen? Bonus if you can tell me where I can buy good UV clothing without breaking the bank as she out grows everything

We got as creative as we could. My wife was really diligent about keeping him protected. So we applied sunscreen (I had to learn to be really careful about the instructions, how long to wait after first application, how frequently to reapply), brought umbrellas, found light fabric coverings, sun hats, battery powered fans for the heat, long sleeve swimming shirts, stayed in on high UV index days, etc.
We wanted him to do the things as much as he was able. So, each event became a puzzle on how to mitigate risk until it felt like something that we could safely do.

Try Academy or similar sports store that sells fishing gear. They have a ton of summer long sleeve but ultra lightweight clothing for adults and children

We were not told that our daughter would be any more sensitive due to chemo, however we’ve always been diligent…mineral sunscreen or av really good sunscreen, and we do generally try to have her in upf clothing. For swimming there if a company called swimzip…their stuff is awesome.

For my son, we did almost like a wetsuit style bathing suit but regular bathing suit material. It was long pants and long sleeves. And a brimmed sun hat. And very diligent about the parts that weren’t covered with high spf. I got the bathing suit on Amazon. Hope you guys are able to enjoy your summer the best you can!
