Politics Happening Now: Downtown Phoenix Fox News Protest

Post image

This morning saw another strong protest in downtown Phoenix in front of the Fox 10 News station and Phoenix PD HQ. (7th Ave and Washington).

Protesters urged everyone to resist the lies and propaganda the Murdoch family pushes through Fox News and its affiliates.

Please remember to stay polite in this post, trolling or being rude to others on this site is not welcome. If you want to debate the effectiveness of protests or the topic of the protests, I highly recommend posting on /r/azpolitics sub.

PS: everyone knows Fox10 is not Fox News, but their parent company is the same.

All media is biased. Not all media lies so consistently. You can pretend all you want that there's an equivalency, and I'm sure you can even find a few obscure links or sporadic examples that enable you to validate that false belief

All CABLE media is biased. Local news is much fairer in its coverage. Most local stations are not owned by the channel they are on.

Often times still a lot of bias favorable to the politics of their locality/audience, but yeah that's fair. But even then, local news stations primarily focuses much more on local news

Something to remember about local news is that it's full of reporters/anchors/photographers/desk managers who are your neighbors. Their problems are your problems.

Cable news employs people who probably have never heard of Apache Junction, or Casa Grande, or Cordes Junction, etc. Cable News can't relate to you and me. Local news folks are just trying to tell both sides fairly.

Sorry but I don't follow how any of that is inconsistent with what I'd written. Up until the last sentence which has nothing to do with the rest, and still fits in with saying that they have the biases which are commonly held in their locality.

Also, don't forget that all those roles you mention can have the best of intentions (even with biases) but the biggest impact is often the people who decide what to cover and how much.
