Betrayed is such a strong word.... It implies that they were ever implying that they were on the side of US Workers to begin with. Perhaps duped is a better choice.

If you willingly go along with a con, are you a victim or an accomplice?

Yeah I never understood people who believe the GOP would help workers or any normal little guys economically. They literally call themselves right wing, which by political definition is about promoting class hierarchy, widening the gap between rich and poor, corporations over people.

These people absolutely voted for Trump and now have r/leopardsatemyface

Haha I assure you none of us voted for Trump

They betrayed the very way of life of the people that live here.

Whatever you thought your country was, that is gone now.

Preach!

If there was a betrayal it was almost 60 years ago. Ever since then it has been “Hate, hate, hate! Kill, kill, kill!”

The only betrayal these assholes feel is that the hate-cannon spun around and targeted them. Get fucked Utah.

We are a group of liberals that protest for democracy, rule of law and human rights for all. Not disaffected conservatives

Historically, Republicans never rallied for the average American. They have always worked for the 1% only. Look what republican Reagan did to us. We never recovered. Who in their right mind votes for any republican, if u r an average American. Republicans look down on the average American.

Well, no shit.

2016-2020 Trumps first term

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." ~Maya Angelou.

2024: 'Well, we'll vote for him again, what could go wrong?

Maya Angelou’s work is banned from the Naval Academy’s library.

Yeah I mean they always do and yet people seem to have collective amnesia every 4 years or so. If Americans are great at anything its voting against their own interests and thinking crappy policies are only going to apply to other people.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. He didn’t pee in their face and call it rain. He peed directly into their mouth n called it pee. They knew what it was from the start so I have no sympathy for any of them.

No kink shaming

u/IdleWanderlust 1d ago

No they didn’t. The GOP tells you constantly they don’t care about you, both with words and actions. If you’re not a wealthy donor you are not an asset of the republikkklan party, you are a rube.

0

u/fumar 1d ago

And yet people keep falling for it.

It doesn't help when the establishment Democrats haven't learned a fucking thing since 2016.

6

u/IdleWanderlust 22h ago

I would argue more that the Democratic Party problem is more about people who will not vote for a candidate over one thing they don’t like instead of the 99 things they do like, but republikkklan voters will do the opposite. They will vote for that 1 thing they want over everything else that harms them. And I don’t know how you fix that.

It's so fuckin insane. My folks are staunch republicans (because jesus was OBVIOUSLY a republican as well) but not maga republicans. The amount of negative shit they hand wave way and then one single thing (which isn't a positive when you look just under the surface) comes on the news or Christian Nationalist radio and its 100 percent absolution in their minds. Like they literally think that most high school kids are trans nowadays and that satan is a literal invisible being roaming around the earth speaking evil into peoples mind. It's so batshit.

GOP betrayed the workers, the citizens, American democracy, and they are the Guardians of the Pedophiles

The GOP, when they were liberals, were for the working class. Reagan started off as a democrat (who were the conservatives at the time) and then became a republican. You would sing Reagan’s praises but then voted for Trump, a man that Reagan hated with his very being and said he was “everything that’s wrong with this country.” Reagan said to “build bridges, not walls” and yet all you want to do is build a wall and ruin everything that him and the people who came before and after him worked so hard to build

The GOP have been conservatives for a long time since then and not all conservatives voted for Trump. I know republicans who never did. Reagan, who was their golden politician for years, knew Donald Trump was a con artist and made it known for years. These people were duped by an obvious conman that we’ve known for years. That’s what cons do; they trick and steal. I’m glad more people are waking up and taking action. I just hope they learn from this and avoid this. I also hope the people who didn’t vote or voted for a third party learn this since evidently, after the first term, they thought this wouldn’t happen again

1

u/Bacchuswhite 1d ago

What that is so shocking how could this ever happen it’s not like it happened last time if only somebody had said something this time omg how come nobody we ignored is listening now that it personally effects us

1

u/Aeri73 22h ago

americans... to european me this looks like maybe 20 people protesting, how often do you see thing kind of thing? is it every bridge? every couple of bridges?

with what your government is doing, I was expecting huge protests by now, at the scale of hundereds of thousands protesting for days, but all i'm seeing is this kind off individual action and a government that just keeps on taking your institutions and taking your protections and taking your rights away from you.

4

u/GoodTroubleUtah 17h ago

Closer to 50, but we agree there should be millions of Americans peacefully protesting daily.

u/Aeri73 10h ago

so where are they? arer people talking about it? planning, thinking?

u/meleecow 11h ago

Betrayed? Literally it doesn't take that much brains to figure out your being played. You allllll got played

u/GoodTroubleUtah 8h ago
