Maybe Brock Allen Turner, the rapist from Dayton Ohio, could get an apartment with Donald J. Trump the child rapist, best friend of Jefferey Epstein who currently lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. once all the Epstein files have been released without redaction.
This is one Reddit trope I will never tire of. Unlike that tired looking piece of shit rapist Brock Turner who lives in Ohio and thinks going by Allen Turner will make us forget.
I wonder how many we've left behind instead since we only focus on this individual. I know moving on is impossible for those of us not actually affected at all by what happened, but for what it is worth it would be nice if he was able to grow as a person after what he did and live a good life.
He's the only one we talk about but I assume there have been other crimes committed by other people since that we don't ever mention. Worse crimes even.
I talked about this in another post about Mike Tyson. My mind breaks when we discuss rapists. I don’t know what we do with people who have committed such atrocities. Mike Tyson served his time in jail. I don’t feel like Brock has been made accountable for what he did. I feel like the system failed his victim. 6 months in jail is nothing. I wonder if he just actually spent the whole 180 days incarcerated. His victim has to live with that forever. Same with Tyson…
So what do we do as a society? Accept that people can be atrocious and just move on? How do you move on knowing the terrible shit they did? How do you date Turner knowing what he did? You want him to have a good life knowing what you know?
I don’t have answers. Just a lot of questions and no way of knowing what the right thing is.
Well I'm much less sure of that whole Tyson situation to the point where I don't feel comfortable putting him and Turner in the same category so I'll leave that part alone but as it relates to Turner yeah I'd much rather he turn his life around and live a better life going forward than just be reduced to the single worst thing he ever did. I am not really convinced people who continue to bring him up are good people drawing attention to a worthwhile cause.
As a society I think we should always be more concerned with victim healing than being vicious towards those who cause harm. But I understand it's not nearly as sexy to post about.
Turner should have been held accountable for what he did and I’m ok with not being what you define as a good person for bringing his case up. There are countless cases of abuse that just get swept under the rug and it shouldn’t be that way.
I think he has been held accountable in ways beyond what the "correct" punishment would have. Those other cases that get swept under the rug, we ignore those in favor of bringing up this guy. I think that's what's bizarre.
Mike Tyson: "I'm not above violating a woman, but I didn't violate that woman. That's just keeping it real. Especially back then, I wasn't above violating, taking p***y and stuff, but I didn't take hers."
This is him admitting that he both was and is a habitual rapist(Like classic rape-rape), but that he's cut down on rape somewhat as he gets older.
Meanwhile, Brock Turner got drunk with some woman at a party and was found fingering her while she was was unconscious.
They're obviously in the same category, regardless of whether Mike Tyson's crimes are more active and severe. If you trust Mike Tyson's words.
Acktchually he was convicted of felony sexual assault (3 counts), but not rape. California (and probably some other people too) have updated their laws so that it would now be charged as rape; they added "digital penetration" to the rape laws.
He is a rapist, but that wasn't what his conviction was for.
And what was his punishment for those three felony sexual assault convictions?
On June 2, 2016, Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Aaron Persky sentenced Turner to six months in jail followed by three years of probation. Additionally, Turner was obliged to register as a sex offender for life and to complete a rehabilitation program for sex offenders.
That's it. He was released after 3 months for "good behavior". A month in jail and a year of probation per felonly sexual assault. Glad that judge got recalled.
edit:
The conviction were for:
sexual penetration (by a foreign object) of an unconscious woman
sexual penetration (by a foreign object) of an intoxicated woman
If it makes you feel better, the rapist Brock Allen Turner was convicted of actions the FBI clarifies to be rape.
The revised UCR definition of rape is: penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.
Brock Allen Turner was convicted of rape for digitally penetrating an unconscious woman
Donald J. Trump was found liable for sexual abuse for digitally penetrating a woman against her will, since rape requires penile penetration according to NY state law.
Only because he is protected by his voters and republican congress who obviously don’t have any issue with raping of children if it means Trump can be president

I wonder if Brock Allen Turner is their protege. Remember him? Brock Allan Turner, the convicted rapist who raped and got a light sentence?
