I wish reporters and journalists would ask every politician this.

“If you were POTUS, would you release the Epstein files?”

Very curious to see who would dodge this question.

nobody would dodge it...they just wouldnt do it when the time came. trump himself said hed release all of the files if elected.

Yeah I think the better question would be, 'what have you done to help get the Epstein files released?'

"There are no files"

u/jebjebitz 1d ago

“There are no files. And, the names on those files don’t belong there. The Democrats put those names on those files….that don’t exist. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Did he release his tax returns like he promised to 117 times?

Did Mexico pay for the wall like he promised 228 times??

Did he end Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine within 24 hours like he said five times???

Did he “date” his daughter like he said… Oh wait, I don’t think he said “date.”

Actually, he said yes - then immediately began to equivocate like a motherfucker.

The same donald trump who would look up into your face and swear he was taller than you - the biggest liar in the entire history of US politics - even he instinctively recoiled at the very idea of the ACTUAL Epstein files (not the redacted horseshit they're working on while we speak) being made public.

He said "yes" (since lying is pure reflex for him) then immediately backtracked "well, maybe...like, you know, there could be some totally innocent trumps in there...what if my name's in there - like a LOT - and it turned out that aliens or gremlins or democrats put my name in there...then it would be totally unfair to release them"

Our president basically kidnapped the only person to be charged & convicted for all that child-trafficking and offered her a carrot/stick to keep her mouth shut. Our president was very best life-long friends with one of our most notorious child rapists.

Do you think the Republicans would change their stance now, to appease Trump?

I am under the belief that even establishment Democrats would dodge the question also because they won’t want to rile up the MAGA base or implicate Clinton. Just look at the comments from people like Nancy Pelosi who want Democrats to stop mentioning it.

u/Column_A_Column_B 1d ago

Nancy Pelosi is such a pain in the neck for progressives.

u/chosonhawk 1d ago

i dunno, man. im going to vote but other than that, im pretty close to giving up in both parties.

Dems may not be inspiring, but they aren't trying to literally destroy the country and flush the constitution either.

You want better choices? Then we need to break the two-party system, and the only way to do that is to change the voting system at the state level to something that doesn't have a two-party equilibrium, like Maine has done.

Passivity in the face of facism is facism.

1

u/BaggerX 18h ago

Ok then. Ignore reality and keep letting the ones actually doing the fascism win. That has worked so well!

If you can't CLEARLY tell that the fucking book is FILLED to the brim with politicians of all affiliations from numerous countries, I'm sorry to say, you are completely ignorant to what's happening.

-1

u/AlwysProgressing 1d ago

Hoooooolllllyyyyyyyy shit I don't think you realize how much Trump and his admin LOVES you. You are so blinded by being in the correct party that you STILL don't realize how it's an up/down issue and not left/right.

You are more important to their cause than any MAGA freak could be.

1

u/Nkosi868 1d ago

Not sure how you got all of that from my 2 comments.

-2

u/AlwysProgressing 1d ago

Your first thought is "will Republicans change their stance now? Surely my party is so innocent, the reason they don't mention it and want people to stop bringing it up is because... reasons...."

1

u/Notsurehowtoreact 1d ago

Note, however, that in the same response he also bemoaned how "innocent"  people's names could be in those files.

Like, yeah Donald, the innocent people mentioned in the Epstein files were the kids that you raped.

The guy in charge ran on releasing the files, and look who hasn’t released them?

Seems like any sus mother fucker would just lie and say they’d release the files.

20

u/Missue-35 1d ago

He sure did. And why would anyone believe him anyway. He doesn’t have a reliable history regarding the release or declassification of files. Ahem…tax returns, anyone?

17

u/RandyPajamas 1d ago

He announced in late 2015 he was going to realease his taxes in two weeks - big press conference. Two weeks later, nothing. MAGA: but he DID release his taxes, I remember seeing him announce it!

13

u/Missue-35 1d ago

They asked Trump and he said yes, he would release the files. So anyone can say one thing and do another at a later date. In fact, the propensity to do so is prerequisite to being a politician.

2

u/CanEnvironmental4252 1d ago

Why would that even matter? Trump literally ran on releasing them. Guess what?

2

u/PicksburghStillers 1d ago

Why didn’t democrats do this when they had 4 years to do so?

“bUt ThEy DiDnT rUN oN tHaT tHoUgH!!!!!”

It’s a big nasty sickening club and all of their friends are in it. No one is going to be prosecuted no matter who is in charge because the most powerful people in the entire world are all implicated and control everything.

u/thevel 10h ago

This needs to happen for a compilation video. Ask Dens if they would release, then have Reps right after, or a one for one. Would be crazy revealing.

Remember, Trump claimed loudly that he will, when he was running. But now that he's in power, he won't especially because he appears in the list.

Politicians and CEOs run on tall promises... promises so tall that even if they fulfill 10% of them, they are judged to be great Presidents/CEOs.

Imagine a charismatic person running for POTUS promising you basicass things like clean water, walkable cities, no additives in food, etc. These are the things we want and will realistically make our lives better if implemented, but they don't sound all that great when spoken from a podium with thousands in attendance and hundreds of cameras on you. It makes your country seem like a shithole & makes people think the party that the POTUS candidate belongs to failed to achieve all of these basic things when they were in power.

Most of the points that people wished for in 2016 are going to be the same points that they wish for in 2028, but leaders got to make the people believe in some higher calling, some higher objectives if the people have to feel good about themselves for being citizens of their country.

We love to be lied to, while fully knowing that we are being lied to.

1

u/sigfind 1d ago

… everyone would say yes , even if it was a lie

1

u/JesusChrist-Jr 1d ago

MAGA voters won't hold them accountable to it though.

1

u/Next-Excitement1398 1d ago

Me when I forget that lying exists

1

u/NiceTuBeNice 1d ago

No politician has ever lied. We will get them with this one.

1

u/firstbreathOOC 1d ago

They just lie lol. Trump said he would

1

u/Flat-Lion-5990 1d ago

Honestly if I were potus and doing what Trump is doing, I wouldn't release them, even if I weren't in them. Hell, I'd do whatever I could to keep people mad about them.

IMHO even if they're released, nothing would happen to him, and he knows this.

But the uproar about them is drowning out and distracting from all the other shit. Ice raids? Those aren't in comments as much as this.

Martial law in the capital? Way more important than trying to get proof for something hell never face consequences for.

Ineptly dismantling the federal government? Perpetually stringing Ukraine along? doge still doging? Breaking the FBI by reducing standards? Pressure) weaponizing the Dept. Of Education against school districts and universities?

Don't get me wrong. I hope he and everyone involved with epstein get their comeuppance. But we can't change the past, and even if the files are released, we won't get justice as long as he and his ilk are in power.

I think it's way more useful to treat the epstein shit as the distraction, and keep the ongoing ruin that's actively happening in the foreground.

Have you ever tracked what politicians promise in their election campaigns and what they actually deliver in office? They’ll say anything to get elected…

1

u/FrostnJack 19h ago

“I saw there’s a file, but I didn’t inhale.”

1

u/Calm-Maintenance-878 15h ago

I mean it’s not as simple as a President just saying “release them” so idk how good of a question is. The evidence the jury saw is locked behind 1 court in NY. I’m no legal eagle but I don’t think it’s within the executive branches power to force it open, as it is sealed. I’d think the President and congress together would be needed, congress doing the heavy lifting with the President signing off on it.

"Now ask yourself, the democrats, they didnt release the files, and you can trust me on this, my son monitors my porn use so you know I am trustworthy" - Probably Mike Johnson
