Good answer. It sucks people forget this game. It also plays better than modern AC games. Valhalla was the only other game I liked. (Possibly due to a biased but I'll ignore that)

Ghost and Horizon are both better AC games than modern AC. I made the mistake of trying out Valhalla right after finishing Ghost, and it really underlined how good Ghost is. Ubi is following the Game Freak path of not improving upon their game’s formula because people continue buying it anyway.

Shadows improved a lot. It's what Ghost would've been if made now, I think.

The actual movement in Ghost is pretty awful for modern games, imo. Combat is cool, but the amount of bs I dealt with really hurt my enjoyment. Great story though.

Does it have an equivalent to the stances system? That was a brilliant improvement in my eyes. Going from that to Valhalla being the standard light-light-heavy-dodge hindered my enjoyment.

That really shouldnt be an unpopular opinion, it's just a fact.

It's not a fact because this part

Ubi is following the Game Freak path of not improving upon their game's formula because people continue buying it anyway.

Is clearly a lie. People were complaining that the AC formula was getting stale, so they made Origins. Then the sandbox fans started complaining that the feel left out, since three (3!) games were RPG heavy, do they made mirage. Ubisoft have been listening to their whiny fans for a very long time.

So what is Shadows Big Innovation?

More games need to realize a satisfying gameplay loop is equally and often more important to a great and fun game as the story, and usually far more important than the graphics.

I liked Valhalla at first but I got bored with it well before finishing it. I love big open world games but it might have been too big

Aye man rightfully so. Vikings are fuckin awesome. Watching the show really made me wanna play it but I still haven’t. Still got a sour taste in my mouth from Valhalla. Was expecting Unity, I got the exact opposite and it felt weird.

All the Horizon games are amazing, my opinion, not as detailed as Red dead but still awesome. The world is just completely different and fantastic

Yes, kind of comic style, even if not too much. But the details are great.
