BF3 felt like peak to me. Vehicular combat was just so OP it was joyous. I could jump into a match and have a 30-0 game being the tank or heli whore. Loved it.
BF4 seemed to have nerfed vehicles too much imo
Never bothered with the series since then because the time periods were not interesting. This looks like a return to form imo
They always have. Just hold off for reviews. 2042 had fantastic trailers too. Granted all of the gameplay looks good too, so signs are strong. That doesn't say anything about their historical launch server issues either. BC has always been my favorite multi-player FPS series, and I hope so hard this is a return, but I've been burned. WAIT UNTIL REVIEWS AND POST RELEASE IMORESSIONS
hudless gameplay looks mental, this is 10 times better than crazy skins and that omni movement, but still i will not pre order i will wait to see how it launches
I might be a tad too anal about this but the skins you get with the Phantom Edition already look a little too esports for my liking. Never seen a soldier with red accents all over his uniform. This doesn’t bode well.
At least with BF, there is a lot more environment, vehicles, players, bigger maps, etc, so crazy skins won't stick out as much. BFV had some funny characters but you'd rarely notice in-game.
But I would absolutely prefer only realistic characters and skins.
That's the thing though, anything that is shown at the moment is part of marketing. I am very careful of any gameplay anywhere now before release because a lot can change before release, monetisation mechanics may be introduced that affect the flow of the gameplay we witnessed etc.
I refuse to get excited. We live in a late stage capitalist nightmare where the only thing you can trust is that everything that looks cool will be monetized and enshittified until it becomes unusable to any reasonable person.
Not to be “that guy” but on 2042 I remember everyone shitting on it when they played the pre-alpha. With this we have months of gameplay from bf labs and everyone is excited(so am I). I hope we are genuinely back.

Yeah. With 2042 we didn’t have barely any gameplay or discussions surrounding the game mechanics until basically the open beta and by then it was too late.
Battlefield 1 was the last great game, and it is amazing. It is the most played BF game today, and released in 2016. Servers still give full games. It's amazing for different reasons than the 360 games. The music and audio design are unbelievable. The destruction scale is like BF3/4 and not like BC2. And it still looks amazing to this day. Play it. It still stands on its own merits.
We don’t know how it’ll go, But they’ve built a new kernel level anti cheat named Javelin just for BF6. So that gives me a little hope. Certainly better than previous methods.
I hate COD but this has absolutely no chance of displacing the absolute strangle hold COD has on gaming. COD is backed by the US gov as one of their most powerful propaganda machines lol their resources will ensure Battlefield never overtakes it. I will admit it looks great though. Far better than any COD does.
You do know you don't have to play the parts of COD that are ass? I've enjoyed every COD experience I've bought because I only play zombies (obviously skipped vangaurd and mw3)
Maybe back in the day it was a good propaganda tool, but these days Call of Duty looks and feels more like a paintball simulator than an actual war game lol
Yeah cause why would they want to spend that much money wowing the fan base every game when they can do the same thing with less work? It doesn’t need to look great anymore once you already have them eating out of your hand. It only has to look great whenever the fan base begins to lower.
My point is that yeah, I could see some kid wanting to join the military after booting up MW2, Black Ops 2, etc because of how hard they went and how cool they were.....
Black Ops 6 though? Game is a total clown show joke lol. Moronic skins aside, the guns don't even sound cool; it sounds like you're shooting paintballs. Anyone that wants to join the military because of Black Ops 6 probably wont even be able to pass the ASVAB. No one is going to get dabbed on by Butthead and go join the Marine Corps lol
It doesn't matter, shooting people with US equipment is enough, remember the Michael bay transformers movies (and most Hollywood movies) are done in "partnership" so the military is portrayed in a positive way in exchange for access to cheap military props, and those movies were about space robots
I’d love to see battlefield outsell cod this year. BO6 held my attention for like 3 weeks and it got old. Can’t believe they’re doing the MW3 shit again this year
What's wrong with enjoying a simple game once and awhile? I love me some great stories, but sometimes i just want to shoot people with my friends for a couple hours
COD is definitely going to flop this year. Same old shitty COD with BO7. Plenty of players will be willing to leave this year to give battlefield a try. The game straight up has more to offer.
This happens every single time a bf game is released. Every time. The player base doesn't even overlap that much, despite being FPSs they're massively different
10 million copies of battlefield 2042 vs bops 6 which has sold more copies than any other cod in history. (They won't disclose that number currently) which is fair to say higher than 10 million because bops 3 sold 43 million. So if black ops 6 is the highest sold its easily understandable that they've sold at least 4x more copies than battlefield.
Will we be able to backflip out fighter jets at 20’000ft to shoot another 2 fighter jets with an RPG and then skydive down and hi-jack an enemy attack helicopter mid flight while head shooting him with an M4 whilst plummeting to the ground like a dart ?
sigh Playing BF4 with friends was so awesome. I loved that game and time with friends. But those days are no more, and life moves on. I wish I had friends to play with, especially this one. 😔

Absolutely different game. I need only 2 hours to play BF to understand it. And if Death Stranding is a simulation of walking, then BF is simulation of running... Not even close to runNgun...
If EA support had a way of actually getting in touch with someone who could help, I’d be excited for this. But, I changed my email address and the one associated with my EA account no longer exists, and there seems to be no way to contact them to fix it because you have to be logged in to use their chat feature.
What a shame with the beta access, you have to create twitch accounts and then link them and then collect drops🤦♂️. I'm not 20, did anyone do that yesterday?
I'm gonna get cooked for this but I've always been someone who just... never played multiplayer games like COD or BF, but this looks sick... might have this game as my first BF game to play

Fully destructible environments would be sick but looking at the trailer idk if itll actually be the case (for example the factory or the bridge when the helicopter crashed against the building idk if it affected the building)
OPERATION FIRESTORM! Talk about throwbacks! The Limp Bizkit song was a nice touch, fair play to advertising team. Then the nostalgia really kicked in when I saw my favourite map!
I'll never pre-order a game from EA, but I'll definitely buy it.
Hoping they bring back Battlefield Friends back as well!
