Remember, no pre orders lol

2042 looked great but we know how that turned out

I refuse to get excited. We live in a late stage capitalist nightmare where the only thing you can trust is that everything that looks cool will be monetized and enshittified until it becomes unusable to any reasonable person.

Well and the fact that all the big studios had quotas to hire certain types of people, which yes they may have some credentials, BUT are they video game people...

Vince Zampella?

Awful take, my dude. Go touch grass for god's sake. And take a shower. Your mom will appreciate it.

Good god you are insufferable

Ok, I challenge you to any game...I will take the most talented people in the world, and you.....your team will be comprised of people based on filing quotas

Unemployed behavior

lol, incorrect

Not to be “that guy” but on 2042 I remember everyone shitting on it when they played the pre-alpha. With this we have months of gameplay from bf labs and everyone is excited(so am I). I hope we are genuinely back.

Though the beta of 2042 was such an improvement.

But then Launch Orbital (and other maps) were worse than Beta Orbital.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '25

The 2042 beta was a mess. Worse than the BF6 pre-alpha, way worse. That game had fundamental issues. If this one has some minor bugs on launch those can be fixed easily after, unlike a game having fundamental issues.

If you're telling me they took months to get actual data for a multiplater game, this complex, then yeah, I believe those concerns are justified. I'm just going to keep this one in reasonable doubt.

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '25

I literally said there is months old footage of gameplay? Since may when the game was PRE-alpha? And the game looks polished. That was all that I said. It looks 1000000000000x better than BF5 and BF2042, like a true successor to BF3.

I didn't deny what you typed, chief.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '25

My bad read that totally wrong, lmao. Guess it’s time to sleep.

Geez this gets old hearing this. You're all going to buy it day 1 anyway. Stop this gate keeping that does nothing.

u/ArtisticResident462 Jul 31 '25

The thing is though we have literal hours of footage from streams and leaked footage from the pre alpha throughout the web I can be safe and say we are back

6

u/anachroniiism Jul 31 '25

Yeah. With 2042 we didn’t have barely any gameplay or discussions surrounding the game mechanics until basically the open beta and by then it was too late.

2

u/dj88masterchief Aug 01 '25

Open Beta is free too, no need to pre-order!

2

u/MrPooooopyButthole Jul 31 '25

The bit I’ve played was so much better than 2042 it’s not even funny. Not saying to pre order but I think they have a winner here

2

u/Tuhajohn Aug 01 '25

Maybe my memory is bad, but I don't remember that 2042 was praised anytime.

Battlefield 1 is probably the best for reacclimation probably.

Battlefield 1 was the last great game, and it is amazing. It is the most played BF game today, and released in 2016. Servers still give full games. It's amazing for different reasons than the 360 games. The music and audio design are unbelievable. The destruction scale is like BF3/4 and not like BC2. And it still looks amazing to this day. Play it. It still stands on its own merits.

u/ArtisticResident462 Jul 31 '25

I say 4 tbh 5 will have more gameplay feel but will have more mechanics from the early battlefield 3 and 4

How about we let people do what they want with their money

I’m talking about the trailer

The trailer for 2042 was sick but the game turned out bad

3

u/xKiLzErr Jul 31 '25

We have a whole new level of transparency with this one though having mountains of gameplay from the Labs and the streamer event they're holding rn. This isn't comparable to 2042, this time around we actually see what we're gonna get

1

u/REDEYEBANKZ330 Jul 31 '25

I mean have you watched the live?

3

u/Kody-Blu Jul 31 '25

No I haven’t got the chance yet

-5

u/seandude881 Jul 31 '25

Already pre ordered

-3

u/CosmikSpartan Jul 31 '25

Already pre cooked

-3

u/seandude881 Jul 31 '25

People buy sports games and cod every year, thinking it will be different lol. We'll be fine.

-8

u/CosmikSpartan Jul 31 '25

I’m pre ordering it too. I’m in the same pot of hopefulness.

1

u/CitizenFiction Aug 01 '25

Genuine question... why?

Are you buying it physically? If not, then why not wait until it launches? You're literally giving your money to a company for a game you haven't even touched yet.

I understand being excited, but Pre-ordering helps perpetuate a quality problem the games industry has had for a while.

2

u/CosmikSpartan Aug 01 '25

Why are you worried about what I do with my money?

After the bugs are worked out I know I’ll enjoy it, same as most other BF games. I’m gonna buy it now or later either way. I’ll make my final decision after open beta.

2

u/CitizenFiction Aug 01 '25

I'm not worried, bro lol. Just curious.

1

u/nightWobbles Aug 02 '25

Because your decision — and the cumulative effect of others doing the same thing as you — directly affects the experience of others.

In other words, if enough people preorder it now before it releases, the studio is less incentivized to get a polished game out for release because so many people have bought it anyway. That studio’s mindset becomes “we will not prioritize big breaking issues or design changes until later, if that”. It makes for a worse experience for all players. If it’s bad enough support drops from a game because once news gets out that the game is a mess (see 2042, Forza Motorsport, etc) fewer people play compared to what could’ve been. The game dies sooner, your experience is diminished, glitches become frustrating, content slows to a crawl, if you have an issue with the game they are less likely to consider your feedback because they already got your money, and so on. Don’t you respect yourself enough to demand a functioning product before you buy it instead of blinding trusting companies that are literally designed to part you from your dollar? When enough people have your mindset, companies know they can do the bare minimum because people will give the companies cash and defend the companies. It makes for a shitty industry that leeches on the gullible. Source: Have worked at various AAA studios from business to engineering side.

I’m gonna be honest. I read the first line and didn’t care to read the rest. You do you and I’ll do me. Because you seem to care more than you should, I’m pre-ordering in your honor.

1

u/CosmikSpartan Jul 31 '25

Admittedly it was janky at first then after updates it runs great on console. I have no complaints and regularly visit the game if I need PVP

u/thecbass Aug 01 '25

I didn’t looked this great to be fair but yes no pre orders!
