Support Received PS 30th Anniversary Edition pre-order email confirmation after a year
I successfully bought a 30th anniversary Dualsense controller in Sept 2024 from PS Direct website. Today I got an email (not spam) for the same order ID, saying my order will be shipped soon and my card will be charged in a few days.
Did anybody else get similar email? This seems weird.

Okay looks like everyone who pre-ordered last tear got the email. Nice mess up by Sony let’s see how it goes.

Same. Made a post as well. I don't need another one. There's no way to cancel it but that card on file is exp. So they're not getting any money

Mine says “shipped” with 2025 release date too but it’s just the original tracking number. No new shipment

Yes I just did too! Ordered September 26th 2004, delivered 11/21/2024, and I just got it too.
If you go into your order page from 2024 and find the order, it has a new release date of 9/9/2025, instead of what it was when you first bought it.
I think it’s because of the most recent restock of the 30th controller, that release date is 9/9/2025, so everyone previous orders were updated to this new release date, triggering everyone to get a new email. I hope we really don’t get charged for this…

This matches everything from my previous order too. The order number from 2024 matches the one included in my e-mail from today. Agreed, hopefully they won’t charge us. I don’t really need an extra controller. Or to spend the $80.

Yep just got the same email. I looked at the order # and it matches my order # from last year, but the email sender is a bunch of Z’s and numbers like how a scam email would look, the email itself seems legit though.. Couldn’t find anything in my orders on my PlayStation account though. Very weird, hopefully they address this. Someone else in this thread mentioned if you go in the order history the release date has been changed to 9/9/25, I can confirm, seems something went wrong.

Okay glad it’s not just me. Sounds like an error on Sonys end that sent them out again exactly a year after the original order.

Yep, got the same and had to log in and double check to make sure I hadn't ordered another and forgot. If only they'd make another batch of the 30th Edge....

Yep, wife and I ordered this and both got emails. Glad to find we’re not alone. My initial Google a couple hours ago didn’t return any results.

I too received this email. If they do charge me for one, I hope they actually send it. Although I think I'd rather have a shot at a 30th anniversary console that I wasn't able to order the last time.

Really thought it was spam but it fell in the “this could be legit “. I went to the direct lookup page myself and saw what everyone is saying. Can’t refund it either as it’s shipped out too.

Let someone high up know what’s going on. What triggered it is that the release date for everyone’s 30th dualsense got updated to 9/9/2025 to coincide with the most recent restock, including those who pre ordered almost a year ago. So we all are getting this email.

Now did we all also I'm pre-order Ghost of Yotei?
Because maybe that's what causing the mess up. It's letting us know that that is going to be charged soon.
edit: Ok since he only has it wishlisted I guess it's not the Yotei pre-order somehow getting crossed with the controller
