Here’s how they justify it: In their warped minds, Liberals are the devil incarnate. They are not only pedophiles, but they kill and eat babies, and rule a massive deep state that has evilly controlled everything that happens for decades. They are responsible for every single bad thing that happens because of Divine Intervention. 

So when you have that worldview, covering up a Trump scandal to protect the conservatives is actually the righteous thing to do in their brainwashed minds.

I think that is how the supporters justify it, because absolutely a huge part of the GOP block truly believes liberals will end the world

But the people working for him? I think they know he’s a piece of shit, but he’s useful and is gonna be how they make it to the top. So when they see direct evidence of his shittiness, “so what, I already knew he’s garbage” and they just keep on going
