I kid you not the only issues that a majority of self described libertarians care about are gun rights and lowering the age of consent

They care about the second amendment for themselves, and just so as long as they can use their weapons in a hypothetical situation to enforce their will on other people. I will admit, not every 2A advocate is like this, but a very large proportion of them are.
