“We’ll see what happens, if it’s bad, if it’s something I don’t see a future in, I’m gone, I’ll leave,” Trump added. “I’ll go back to the United States.”

“It’s going to be a big thing,” Trump said at a White House Press conference on Monday. “We’re going to Russia, it’s going to be a big deal.”

In a third instance, later in the same press conference, Trump said “You know, I’m going to see Putin. I’m going to Russia on Friday.”

This is a fucking humiliation to the United States of America. Even before the meeting giving POO-tihn the optics of hanging around with his old pal Donold.

My guess is Putin keeps telling him Alaska belongs to Russia and Trump, being the idiot he is, believes him since he believes the last thing he was told.

436

u/Dodge542-02 8d ago

Easier for him to sell it back to Russia

130

u/MississippiJoel America 8d ago

Or better yet, to cut Putin a trillion dollar check on the promise of "I'll leave all this land, as far as you can see, to you, right here, right now."

18

u/Vivid_Pianist4270 8d ago

Nah, we can see Alaska from the tip of of Haida Gwii (formerly Queen Charlotte Islands) so they can probably see us. Canada says no too! 🇨🇦

19

u/MississippiJoel America 8d ago

I think Sara Palin already tried to sell that one.

Did you catch Putin talking about many Russian- built churches and place names there are there? He’s laying out the historical justification for it as historically Russian.

128

u/bastetlives 8d ago

I noticed that too. Same framing. He started his public address with it, as the lead, and it wasn’t short. He also made a big point about how we share a border (phased as a relatively unknown fact eg “people aren’t saying, yet”) and how it was so “easy to transport tanks across” during WW2.

This is exactly how he talked about the current war, and those before it. Long historical discussions to educate about the former empire .. then the war action is a one liner “thus, of course this”.

Americans are not just uneducated but resistant to education (I’m American!). Many don’t leave their town, or state, let alone travel to other countries, or learn the history, and the history of propaganda.

The statement was propaganda of course. But it was not only ignored but not even parsed to determine the flavor of propaganda and the intent, and the intended audience.

It was too much acknowledgement of the locale for the occasion to be for the host alone. Plus over our heads. It was for the Russian media: look where we are. It used to be ours. So so close. We could go here next.? Whatcha think? Can you believe they are just letting me say this here?

Planting domestic seeds. Flaunting political global power. Kind of a big deal. We should be outraged. There should have been big Native American displays of ancient heritage integrated into American unity to preempt this kind of thing, and some witty jokes written about the price tag to rebuff their comparatively short legacy claims in a polite but dismissive way.

We got none of that, sadly. Plus, planes? Whatever. A sophisticated drone swarm airshow would have been much more pointed.

Trump mixed past tense to future tense. Putin told him Alaska will be a part of Russia, and Trump thought he meant like yesterday.

At the press briefing earlier this week it was all "President Trump seemed to mistakenly say he was going to Russia, any comment on that?"

"The President is going to Alaska but we'll see what plans are in the future, next question."

The point of the question swept aside.

Just imagine if it were Biden saying these things. Or any non-republican, really. The right would be screaming about the 25th Amendment so hard that it'd probably result in his resignation. Age-wise, Trump's the same age Biden was when he(Biden) was in his 2nd year as POTUS.

So, the mental faculties/cognitive abilities questions should be thrown around like hot potatoes at this point. Calling a red state like Alaska a part of Russia 3 different times should be either deeply worrying or deeply insulting to MAGA. The double standard is so blatantly obvious. But unless someone like Jesse Watters or Gutfeld points that kind of thing out them, the base won't see it.

60

u/MillionMilesPerHour 8d ago

Not only the right, but the corporate media would as well. They harped on Biden’s age as if he was 40 years older than Trump.

14

u/spezSucksDonkeyFarts 8d ago

I hope they are happy. Turned out they were right and Biden really was too old for 4 more years. But even a comatose Biden would've been better than what we have right now.

And no, I don't believe that a younger candidate would have trounced Trump had Joe not ran. All because the media outlets entertained Trump as a serious candidate. The fact that even a single person considers Trump a serious statesman is a disaster for journalism. How could they have failed so spectacularly?

25

This is a fucking humiliation to the United States of America

Good. The people of the United States should realise they brought this upon themselves. Unfortunately, they also brought it upon others - fellow citizens and foreign citizens alike - who didn’t vote for him, and saw the importance of stopping this madman.

132

Unfortunately, Trump's base is far too stupid to have any kind of realization.

This is not surprising. It is very common for people with remarkably low intelligence not to know very basic things. When you add dementia and aging on top of low intelligence, it is a devastating cocktail of misfortune. Unfortunately, our conservative brethren in the United States have forced this situation upon all of us.

306

u/BoldThrow 8d ago

It’s absolutely unbelievable that we face this situation. The downfall of the republic lead by the dumbest person possible.

160

u/Virindi Texas 8d ago

The downfall of the republic lead by the dumbest person possible.

Trump is not a leader, he's a puppet led by:

  1. Putin. See: constant pandering and attempts to "give-away" Ukraine.
  2. The Oligarchy. See: tax breaks, gutting of social systems to give them leverage over workers.
  3. The Heritage Foundation. See: Project 2025.

These are the most obvious, though I think Trump will entertain anyone with enough money; he's here to benefit himself (collecting an estimated 3 billion this year alone) and will absolutely sell you and the rest of the country into slavery if he personally benefits.

51

u/Xytak Illinois 8d ago

He might not be versed on policy… or even basic geography… but he absolutely knows how to work a crowd. And he has some very smart people working on some very detailed plans behind the scenes. Unfortunately, those plans won’t be for the good of the people.

91

u/Lostsailor73 8d ago

He can work a crowd of fools. Put him in a room of people who arent ignorqnt, selfish, malignant narcissists, and he can't do anything.

He can only connect with those that have pent-up grievance against other people. The decent find his message, repugnant and repulsive.

36

u/Xytak Illinois 8d ago

And statistics back this up. Non-college-educated voters are like “he’s a funny guy! He tells it like it is!”

167

u/SubMikeD Florida 8d ago

It's misogyny

It's really frustrating how true this is, but no one wants to discuss the role misogyny played in Trump winning....both times.

83

u/keelhaulrose 8d ago

Something like 16% of people admit they won't vote for a woman as president because they're uncomfortable with the concept.

The number is probably much higher than that because you have to own your misogyny to admit it, and there are a lot of people who claim they're not misogynistic, they just couldn't vote for one because of her laugh or whatever.

53

u/BackpackofAlpacas 8d ago

There was actually a paper in the science sub today that found 7% of Democrats, 15% of independents, and 26% of Republicans express discomfort with a female president. That's more than enough of a disparity to prevent any woman from succeeding in the near future and to explain the past two attempts.

and that's just the people who will admit it to themselves and say it out loud

And as a dad with daughters, it makes me incredibly sad that I think it would be irresponsible to nominate a woman in 2028. The world can't risk another presidency that follows this blueprint.

17

u/Tower-Junkie 8d ago

I felt so disgusted that my immediate reaction to Kamala being nominated was that trump would be re-elected. I didn’t think that because it’s what I wanted, but because I knew that’s how America would react. The small sexist interactions I still experience all the time is enough to tell me we aren’t there as a nation and it makes me sick. But what can I do? Like... seriously. You'd think TRUMP would do better? She didn't vote for Trump either, she just didn't vote so it's the same as voting for Trump imo.

I'm sure many many people out there are similar. It's crazy how this Gaza issue really fucked over Kamala and the US in general.

40

u/NonlocalA 8d ago

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a huge psy-op.

Because guess what the fuck happened to the protests after Kamala lost? Sure, there's some die hards left, and some terrorist actions. But now that Gaza is literally a smoking crater, there's hardly a peep in the states. Just a whole bunch of surprised pikachu faces.

19

u/[deleted] 8d ago

It was a psy-op. The CCP controls what content is trending on Tik Tok, so in the months leading up to the 2024 election, they flooded Tik Tok with videos of Israeli violence against Palestinians and videos of people implicating the Democratic Party in said violence. They wanted Trump to win because they knew that would destabilize the US and allow China to become the world’s #1 superpower.

IMO, it was a pretty transparent psy-op and it’s shameful that we fell for it. Long before the 2024 election, it was clear that Tik Tok was being used as a psychological weapon, as evidenced by the fact that the Chinese version of the app promotes educational content while the American version promotes idiocy. Many of the videos on Tik Tok were also from past Israeli attacks on Gaza but were presented as footage from the current one. It’s bizarre that they would lie about events in Gaza when the truth is horrifying enough, but they did, and we failed to grasp the implications.

I was getting a haircut a few months back and one of the women that worked in the barbershop had to be in her 40's. She said she had just recently learned that you could drive to Alaska. She thought it was in the ocean because the maps always show it separated from the other 48 states, just like Hawaii. How the fuck can people like that get through their daily lives?

15

u/MillhouseNickSon 8d ago

Because too many arrogant and ignorant people have the misconception that not knowing something is “bad” instead of just the first step to learning something. If you are excited about learning something, someone else is likely to berate you for “being a nerd”. If you try to tell someone something that they don’t know, you’re likely a “know-it-all”. Constructive criticism isn’t something the average American understands, they just see it as “making me look dumb”.

The US (and the western world as well) has an anti-intellectualism problem.

9

I think it's also because people genuinely have no desire to understand things. She saw a map with Alaska represented next to Hawaii and just accepted it.

She never thought to ask how Alaska could be cold af next to a tropical island lol

To be fair, Alaska wasn't a state until Trump was 13. Which happens to be the same age as some of the girls who were Epstein's-one of Trump's oldest friends-victims.

Release the Epstein files.

I’m going to guess his handlers had to convince him to not just make the knee jerk decision to give Alaska to Putin.

46

u/PatrioticRebel4 8d ago

The good thing about trump is he's too greedy to just give something away without anything in return. And its a good thing for America that Putin doesnt have any Nobel prizes.

You are all overlooking how good this news is. Trump not knowing Alaska is part of the US is likely the only reason he didn't offer it to Russia.

8

u/beardeddragon0113 8d ago

Until trump tells him "sure you can harvest all the natural resources in Alaska, since its already part of Russia go ahead!"

5

u/gogoluke 8d ago

Putin will have been playing mind games with Trumps Dementia riddled brain and saying Alaska was once Russian so now that seed is in Trumps head as that is what he last heard. Putin will also have said how Russia sold it so it can be sold again. This puts another seed in Trumps head. Now he's thinking how he can sell "his" land back to Russia for a profit. Putin will have also said Russia sold it for $7.2m so trump will add a bit more for profit say up to $10m then double it $20m thinking he has a huge profile. Putin will also say he will put missiles on the Canadian border to pressure Canada and secure it... "We point missile right toward the Canada so they fall in line with you and me. You can have the Canada as a token of our friendship"

All Putin has to do is constantly remind Trump that selling it is winning and Trump will absolutely fixate on it no matter the cost.

7

u/Underdogs4513 8d ago

This is Trump. He does not give one single fuck about the United States or its people. He uses the presidency as a tool to further his own personal wealth and interests. He uses fear mongering tactics to influence stupid people, which make up the majority of this country. This is why he doesn’t know anything about the country, the history of the country, the Bible he claims to support, etc. It’s quite embarrassing how easily he was able to do this all.

14

u/Capital-Delivery8001 8d ago

he’s doing this on purpose. why can’t anyone see how obvious it is? he obviously knows Alaska is part of the US, but right now he wants it to belong to Russia, which is what his friend Putin wants

46

u/brick20 8d ago

People are constantly giving Trump WAY too much credit for being some evil mastermind. He’s not. He’s just a stupid and selfish old man with dementia. This is the same guy that wanted to fire a nuke at a hurricane and suggested injecting bleach to cure Covid. He’s a fucking moron, plain and simple.

6

u/Sabiancym 8d ago edited 8d ago

Exactly. Trump is a useful idiot in someone else's master plan. He's not even capable of functioning on his own, let alone masterminding complex geopolitical maneuvers. There are actual former white house staffers on record questioning Trump's literacy. There's even more about how intelligence briefings had to be significantly dumbed down when Trump took office.

He's an idiot who other idiots think is competent.

No Kings.

“There is something exceedingly ridiculous in the composition of monarchy; it first excludes a man from the means of information, yet empowers him to act in cases where the highest judgment is required. The state of a king shuts him from the world, yet the business of a king requires him to know it thoroughly; wherefore the different parts, by unnaturally opposing and destroying each other, prove the whole character to be absurd." Thomas Paine
