It's misogyny. They can't directly say its cus she's a woman, so they do personal attacks that relate to being a woman.

Meh. I think you guys actually have it wrong. Maybe for a PART of the Republican base, it’s race and gender, but for the overwhelming majority of Republicans and let’s just say right-wingers, it’s that she was a Democrat. Full stop. I travel all over the country and I’ve met a lot of Republicans. The overwhelming majority aren’t racist or sexist but they do fucking hate Democrats. And they aren’t even quiet about it.

They could have ran anybody and these Republicans or self proclaimed non-voters, would have found anything to hate about the candidate as long as they were a Democrat.

And I make this point because I think we are self-defeating by wrongly diagnosing the issue as her being a woman or a POC. Afterall, there was significant overlap in people who support Trump and also saw AOC positively. I really think it’d be a bad move if we suddenly say, because of Hillary and Harris, we can’t run women candidates. I think we would be looking at the problem incorrectly and if a strong woman candidate emerges in the future, it would be a massive misstep to learn the wrong lesson here.

Again, not saying there isn’t sexist or racists in the country but these people weren’t going to vote for anyone with a D next to their name anyways. And I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again - if McCain stood down and Palin took the reigns in 2012 and ran on that same MAGA energy, which she practically generated, she probably would have beat Obama. She literally made MAGA before MAGA was a thing and Trump just road the coattails of that energy for the Republican Party.
