I’d say a mistake is when someone accidentally performs below their capabilities. If you don’t have the ability to do something correctly you can make a mistake, you simply are not capable.

This fucker has a law degree from Yale, it doesn't mean he's a genius but he sure as hell knows that WW2 ended with occupation of Germany and Hitler with a bullet in his brain. Or that Japan was burned to the ground and then nuked twice for good measure.
