No offense, but most of them are the kind that like to pull the ladder up behind them. Immigrants and latino people are just like everybody else: selfish, stupid and petty.

As a Latino, I definitely had my share of standing witnesses to this level of betrayal. I call this the, "I got mine, now fuck you," mentality.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions about the dynamic. Some of my (white) friends were complaining that Latinos voted against their own interests because they're conservative, but I try pointing out many Latino Americans don't identify with all Latinos; it's not just like one big club.

I imagine plenty of well-off brown people are just as susceptible to the classist notion that Trump is just going after criminals, maybe even more so.

It’s definitely a mix for sure. But a lot of Latinos got caught up in the whole MAGA working class thing plus they were the most impacted by post-Covid inflation. So in a two party system they vote for the other person. The projection onto what Trump would do for people was crazy, and now those are coming home to roost
