Trump says he’ll send troops to ‘clean up’ San Francisco

When a government deploys troops to it's own cities; who is it waging war against? Hint: it's you.

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state. The other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people

u/OG_Lost 7h ago
now? No, always. They protect capital, not people. Sometimes those interests align but more often they do not. Our police institutions started out as slave catchers and have kept that mentality ever since slavery was abolished except in the case of punishment for crime. Police incarcerate people for companies to use as slave labor. They don’t stop crime from happening, they don’t make our communities safer. They use crime as an excuse to make slaves out of people.
Even though policing statistically does not work as well as alternatives at reducing crime and prisons don’t sufficiently rehabilitate people, our leaders will never abandon or replace these institutions with better ones. Because US companies still want slaves, and prison companies want repeat offenders to boost their profits.

Frankly - and I say this as one who has lived with horrible, debilitating, lifelong chronic illness for over 30 miserable years now - Trump deserves so much worse than to pass away gently from some disease, with access to the best medication and all the painkillers he wants.
The suffering this vile excuse for a ‘man’ has wrought upon this once-proud nation, and indeed, the entire world, is incalculable. He has made life measurably worse for countless Americans through his horrific policies and careless inaction. He has directly caused the horrible deaths of millions who didn’t need to die, simply because he thought minimizing the seriousness of a deadly virus would be politically beneficial to him personally. He has inflicted unfathomable levels of trauma on everyday Americans just trying to live their lives, who now have to fear being kidnapped and thrown in a gulag simply because of their skin color or other minority status. And all of that is just within the last few years, totally ignoring his lifelong career as a notorious New York City conman who fucked over everyone he ever interacted with.
It genuinely makes me physically ill knowing how much suffering this one despicable piece of human garbage (and his henchmen, who must also not escape accountability when the time comes) has been able to inflict upon not only the US, but the human race at large.
I sincerely hope that Trump lives long enough to spend his miserable, lonely, hate-fueled final years underneath a filthy, desolate prison in some godforsaken location - and even that will be too kind a fate for him.

Doesn’t matter, this is not his playbook, whoever is next will just pick up where he left off because this is what the money wants and has been planning for over a decade now.
He’s not just a puppet though, he has his own special form of cruelty and evil. But his replacement will likely be less obviously a self centered moron, and be able to keep his ego in check more effectively so that a lot of this goes on behind closed doors which is worse in some ways.
18
u/SpudgeBoy 12h ago
Well over a decade. The red necks have been planning this since right after the Civil War and the "moral majority" has been plotting this since at least the '50s. Now add in Russia since the '40s and you have a perfect mix to destroy America as we know it.

Ask Trump-2025 what he had for lunch and he’d probably start talking about how Joe Biden led the Russia Russia Russia hoax and how Joe DiMaggio had a really smooth penis — Smoothdick DiMaggio they used to call him — not that the Left would ever bring it up, because he was a man playing man’s sports.

Fun Fact: The only real reason that he wants to go to San Francisco versus Houston is because it’s a liberal minded “Blue” city in a “Blue” state while Houston is a much more dangerous city to be in than San Francisco.
Houston had a violent crime rate of 1,256 per 100,000 residents, while San Francisco's rate was significantly lower at 550 per 100,000 residents. More recent estimates suggest San Francisco's rate was around 596.5 per 100,000 in 2024, and Houston's rate was 1,148.2 per 100,000 in 2024, indicating Houston's rate remained substantially higher.
I say put your money where your mouth is Donald, clean up Houston first! Send your troops to a few of those Red states if you really care about cleaning up the cities with high crime rates.

These measures are not intended to reduce crime, they're intended to centralize authoritarian control over parts of the country where political opposition is most prevalent.
This was always the goal... Trump's authoritarian takeover of D.C. was a test and a means of justifying this practice in other states.
And by "practice" I mean the militarization of domestic policy and the federalization of the military and local law enforcement in areas of the country where the Trump regime isn't interested in reducing crime, but "cracking down" on protestors and all dissenting voices.
"Law and order" has been a conservative dog whistle for decades, and we know that Trump and MAGA don't care all that sincerely about the law because they believe they are above it—that the law applies disproportionately to their "enemies" and not to them.
Now, before Republicans begin whitewashing history related to the political realignment of the mid to late 20th century, I feel like I have to go off on a brief historical tangent:
Starting with how Republicans employed "the southern strategy" in the 1960s to draw white, southern conservative voters to the party who felt alienated and disarmed by civil rights movements and desegregation policies. The strategy also succeeded at inciting racial tensions and merging conservative and religious "values."
The strategy proved very effective.
By the 1980s, a new conservative movement had formed. Over the course of two decades, political figures like George Wallace, Barry Goldwater, William Rehnquist, Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan of course, used "Law and Order," "tough on crime" rhetoric and campaign talking points to engage with aggrieved white conservatives in the south. This language was riddled with dog whistles meant to inflame racial tensions and indoctrinate conservatives with fears of racial violence, desegregation, and black crime in their neighborhoods
Out of this movement also emerged the "moral majority," and a Christian fundamentalist revival that drew more and more conservatives to the Republican party; turning Christians into a political force for the right.
They also attracted white conservatives to the party by appealing to their grievances around how these deep societal changes were challenging the structural norms, myths, ideologies and hierarchies of a pre racial America and its dominant white culture.
The Conservative party today has deep roots in this movement and has grown increasingly more ethnocentrist as a result.
Today, their law and order rhetoric is rife with thinly veiled dog whistles meant to incite hostility towards minorities, immigrants and marginalized groups. It's also used to justify their blatant, authoritarian policies. To them, "law and order" means punishing their enemies.
Their obsession with crime and punishment is reflected in their support for these efforts that federalize troops and police to "crackdown" on political dissidents, in their militarization of domestic policy, in their weaponization of the DOJ, in their disregard for the basic constitutional rights of the people they target and detain, in Trump's attacks on law firms and judges, and in his reprimand of anyone who has ever tried to hold him accountable, among other things of course.
The cognitive dissonance really is astounding. While Trump and his supporters are demanding that he receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his feckless efforts at "negotiating" an imaginary peace around the world, he is simultaneously waging war against the American people, and people he is supposed to protect mind you...
These tactics are taken directly from the fascist/dictator handbook. Trump and his followers will continue to support these measures until every "blue city" or so-called "democrat, crime ridden hell hole" is under their occupation.

Slowly raises hand. What is the situation in San Fransisco that is being used to justify this?

San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities around with (check notes) Oakland across the bridge.
Yet troops need to go in?

Before he got elected I really wanted to join the National Guard. Very glad I did not.

He's hoping protesters will be aggressive enough that he can order someone to fire on them, and maybe they will fire back, and then he can claim the liberals have declared civil war, and only he can fix it, so, never mind about elections

This mother fucker won't stop. Every day I feel like he pushes further and further to see what he can get away with and Congress and the Supreme Court won't do a damned thing to stop him. At this point, I don't think they'd stop gas chambers and an open declaration of nuclear war against the entire world. If he's dying, he wants to take us all to hell with him.

Why not Houston or Miami? The crime is worse there by multitudes. Oh, yeah, I know. Rehearsal time.

There’s a lot of “going to” in these statements. It’s been 8 months and they’ve gone into two cities and both have turned out to be a useless wet fart. Still, a very expensive wet fart.

Sending troops to two cities in 8 months is actually fucking wild though, and an insane pace. He's continually seeing what he can get away with, that's how the descent into fascism is done. Not with one huge move, but "slow" encroachments (though these have been quiet fast).
Yes the deployments were useless, and they'll continue to be useless and you people will dismiss it as theater until suddenly it's not and you realize you can't even protest anymore.

I think it’s because people haven’t been protesting the troop presence, which is seemingly what the regime wants - they want news footage of rioters clashing with national guardsmen who “heroically” put down the riot with deadly force, thereby confirming the fears of the MAGA dumb dumbs who think all big cities are lawless hellscapes. I’m glad that so far the good people of LA and DC have ensured wet fart status. Troops just standing around with nothing to do = low morale, questioning orders, resenting the DOD.

We need to have a block party BBQ, not a protest. Feed them. Introduce them to the town. Make them feel welcome. All love and good vibes. I dunno, find real projects that could use some additional hands that will improve the community for real.
What are they doing in DC? Arresting middle aged dudes for stepping off of the sidewalk when crowded off the sidewalk by these dudes with body armor and guns? Like how does that help anything besides making some lawyers a bunch of bank?

Trump says he’ll send troops to ‘clean up’ San Francisco
... but only if the release of the Epstein Files doesn't clean up the White House first...

One way to see this…..the closer you get to living in or near a larger city, the more likely you are to becoming civilized.
Those who live further away from civilization….primarily voted for “The Orange Treasonous Pedo Taco”!
Any questions?

He wants Newsom to call out the CA National Guard to repel Guard from other States. They want Civil War. It’s why they are preparing for martial law. If you can’t see it you are blind.

I was always told to fear Democrats because they would send the military in and declare martial law.
