u/goosejail 9h ago edited 6h ago
An ICU nurse did a video about his hand & cankles & said they're likely running a Lasix drip overnight (among other things) for him & they unhook him during the day so he can do public appearances. She said he's exhibiting textbook congestive heart failure signs.
Edit to add: here's the video since so many have asked: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8BaBv34/
Edit 2:
a port catheter or any central line placement is a surgical procedure(it's done this way in peds, not always in adults in all circumstances.A PICC isn't central line, it's peripheral) His team may not want to draw any more attention to his already obvious health issues by having him undergo some mysterious surgery. He'dhave to(usually) transfer presidential authority to Vance while he's under anesthesia.Edit 3: I didn't say the marks on his hand were definitely from an IV. They could be from regular blood draws. The video, if you watch it, says the same.
This commenter explained it well: Veins are hard to hit when someone has CHF and veinous failure as the veins are essentially collapsing in his extremities. In order to get fluids in they need easy to reach veins so they go for the hands and feet. They’re likely rotating because those veins keep collapsing.

Just from my former experience as a cancer mom, they could be rotating where they place the IV or take blood from. He may very well have bruises on his arms as well that we don't see.

Also depending on his veins, my wife is a very hard stick and they frequently have to get it from her hands to get blood or do an IV

Wouldn’t it be sensible to make a port if you’re doing nightly IVs?

I replied to another comment that placing a port or any central line is a surgical procedure done under general anesthesia. His team may not be willing to risk all the public speculation if Trump has to transfer his presidential authority to Vance to undergo some mysterious surgery. There's no way they can get away with people not finding out with so much public attention already on Trumps admitted health issues.

As a former ICU nurse I totally agree. On the one hand, it should be noted people can live for years with CHF. On the other, if they're at a point where they're doing IV diuretics, it's not promising (for him). It is also unlikely he would make the lifestyle changes needed to keep him going longer. Noncompliant CHF is not a fun way to go. Take care of yourself, people!
•
u/still-waiting2233 7h ago
Especially when he cannot rest and they blast him with diuretics for repeated public viewings. High risk for crumping his kidneys (probably not working too well anyways if they are giving it routinely IV)

My ex has CHF. 47 has all the same signs. Someone also said something about continuing the same bad habits? My ex in a nutshell. Docs told him to stop drinking. He hasn't. Told him to stop smoking. Again, nope. He cant even walk on his own power anymore. Needs a walker. And he weighs over 300 pounds.

As much as I hope that's true, there is way too much attention out there for anybody with medical training promising he's going to croak soon. Remember the doctor who made like a 20-part series during his first term about how he'd be to demented to stand up and talk at a podium within months?
I'm not going to count my dead dictators before they croak. I'll be celebrating in the streets when it happens, but not holding my breath.

u/KJS123 United Kingdom 5h ago
Nothing they bitch about EVER matters! They have absultely NO fundimental principles. Whatever they said yesterday doesn't matter to them, so they can say whatever they want today and discard it tomorrow as irrelevent. It's a mental fluidity that they'd be lost without. They're not serious about ANYTHING, except warding off the reality that they've been duped. Make no mistake, they know it. They've just substituted basic decency for "winning". Well, really it's the illusion of winning that they're contenting themselves with. Smoke and mirrors. Culture war hysteria and memes about 'crying libs'.
Yes, it's truly pathetic and it's doing irrepreable harm to both the United States and the larger free world, but they don't care about all that. They'll happily trade a world on fire for those little dopamine hits they get at the thought of 'owning the libs'.
Instead of acknowleding the hypocrisy of their yesterdays, remember that whatever they're screeching about today will be on that pile too, by and by. Treat it with all the seriousness that they treat yesterday's bullshit with, and no more. They REALLY don't like it when you give their lies the same contempt they do, but in real time.
→ More replies (3)•
u/LichtensteinMind008 2h ago
Exactly. There will be no "gotcha" moment with these people. Any hypocrisy you could point out means nothing. Their only goal is to make sure we are arguing about the price of eggs, or inflation, or the national debt, in order to hide the fact that they're utterly foaming at the mouth to hurt people, and biding their time long enough to get their daddy in the white house.
We are past the point of saying crap like, "If Obama did that you'd riot." They know. They don't care. The whole point is that Daddy is now beating up those meanies that make them feel bad and think. People have got to wake up. There aren't two parties anymore. There's one ineffectual party, and another mob of cultist yes-men eager to watch the world burn.

The power vacuum will be one of the largest in human history. The neocons will want a return to Reaganism. The corporate interests will refuse to cede any ground willingly. Christofascists will be fighting a holy war. The Trump family circle will jockey for relevance.
J.D. Vance is not as incapable as those on the left believe, but he doesn't have the capacity to navigate all of this as a figurehead. It's likely that nobody does. What happens when Vance runs in the '28 primary against Don Jr and Dwayne Johnson and Jeff Flake and Joe Rogan? At this point Trump has aligned too many competing interests for anyone else to hold it together.
It'll be especially bloody if Trump passes before the economy truly crumbles. Because at that point Trump will be deified and the inevitable economic hardship will be blamed on whomever managed to first usurp the political power.

The world didn't know Stalin was dying until he was already dead. Franco was kept on life support for weeks in 1975 while Spanish propaganda insisted he was recovering; Mao went blind and mute from ALS while China pretended he was fine; Brezhnev slurred through speeches and could barely walk yet "ruled" the USSR until 1982; Kim Jong-il vanished for months after his 2008 stroke that North Korea never acknowledged; Hitler hid his trembling Parkinson's hand behind his back and under tables; Tito's gangrenous leg was amputated in secret while Yugoslavia claimed he had a "minor circulation problem"; Andropov ran the Soviet Union from a dialysis machine; Chernenko could barely breathe from emphysema yet became Soviet leader anyway; Not just fascists and dictators pulling this shit either, Woodrow Wilson's stroke left his wife secretly running America, and FDR hid his paralysis behind staged photographs.

It's no coincidence that Trump was recently lamenting not getting into heaven...
He's having to come to terms with his mortality now because his doctors likely diagnosed him with a severe heart and/or kidney condition and not just a symptom of the condition—chronic venous insufficiency—that's strictly associated with his old age and is no cause for alarm.
This is how MAGA tried to rationalize it when a story that downplayed Trump's poor health conveniently appeared alongside images of his severely swollen ankles.
Of course, MAGA will demand sympathy for the old, decrepit man and insist that his obvious physical and mental decline is not being "covered up."
They'll demand respect for Trump while they spent the better part of Joe Biden's term drumming up conspiracy theories about him, antagonizing and insulting him, mocking and ridiculing him, decrying his lack of fitness, even suggesting things as wild as him being a clone. Trump jumped on that too if you don't remember. He actually posted this on social media:
"There is no Joe Biden – executed in 2020. Biden clones, doubles and robotic engineered soulless, mindless entities are what you see. Democrats don't know the difference."
And while Trump is showing signs of becoming increasingly more unhinged by the day, he is still managing to find time to publicly denigrate and blame this alleged Biden "clone" for all of our country's problems whenever he gets the opportunity.
I suspect that along with birthright citizenship, the two term limit, due process, the emoluments clause, the first amendment, etc, Trump and MAGA will set their sights on challenging the 25th amendment so that Trump can still cling to power long after he's been clearly designated unfit to serve.

Nurse here. If he were getting regular IV's, they'd likely put a PICC line in, which would be located on the inside of his upper arm where it would be very difficult to spot. The likely cause are anticoagulants used to prevent blood from clotting in the lungs, legs, heart, etc. This would be in line with his press secretary stating that he is being treated for DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) i.e Blood Clots.

We need to start very publicly coordinating all of the requirements and selling tickets to massive parade parties so he knows just how happy we will be when he kicks.

We need to start circulating plans for rallies, getting celebrities booked, bands, you name it - just let the worthless sack of shit know how we feel before it's too late.

This man is really going to die and get off the hook for his entire life of rape, scamming, warmongering, crime, and murder isn’t he? It’s always the worst ones who get the easiest exits. Then we wonder why atheists are on the rise

He was never going to face consequences in this life. Not in a world that’s owned by billionaires.
Settling for the next best option isn’t so bad.

If it makes you feel any better, someone with his level of narcissism facing their own mortality will be the most terrifying thing of his entire life. And eventually it will happen, and he will be in emotional hell. Unless he dies suddenly I guess. Which is a great reason to not do some stupid thing like that sniper kid did. He can suffer by dying like everyone else, in the setting of narcissism. Nobody should ease his suffering by making it fast.

Congestive heart failure. IV Diuretics. I’ve seen a couple opinions from cardiologists regarding his prognosis - one was 6 months, the other as high as a year.

The one going viral on TikTok right now is from a doctor of physical therapy, not a doctor of medicine (and definitely not a cardiologist). And he just gave anecdotal quotes stating "here's how long CHF patients that I've seen have lived."
Take comments from anyone on the internet with a massive grain of salt and make sure they actually have the credentials to back up their claims.

They always say that you can’t kill pure evil. I’m not getting my hopes up until they separate his head from his body.

I can only hope that it hurts constantly, and that he's scared and in pain every day until he kicks the proverbial bucket and takes the express elevator to the depths of hell.

It's almost like Trump is old as fuck. My stepfather is in his late 70s and he gets random bruises on his arms and hands, usually from doing nothing. Maybe his hand hits the side of the bed at night or something. Literally anything can cause it, because his skin is literally super thin these days and his capillaries are fragile.
I'm not trying to excuse anything regarding Trump. Just saying he's too god damned old to be running this nation. He should be relaxing at home while doctors check his vitals daily. I mean, really, he should be in fucking prison. But you get what I'm saying.
