As a white woman... this is so shameful.

I stand by my statement that I fucking hate the south, and I fucking hate southerners. Now I realized there's hope down there... and I feel the need to rescue every black person who is clearly surrounded by people who want to kill them.

I'm a white southern Democrat. Do you hate me?

Nope. Just added you to my rescue list.

Honestly, and I know this sounds strange, I'd rather stay in the South. If I moved to a blue state it would be one less Democratic vote here in dixie. There are plenty of southern liberals and we are fighting the good fight behind enemy lines. We can't help that we're outnumbered. It just sucks to get shit on where you live for being a Democrat and shit on from people in blue states for being born in the south.

Agreed, it makes me respect Northern Dems less, because they pretend to be high and mighty intellectuals that are against judging people by the race and where they are from but will do ot without batting an eye. Its pathetic hypocrisy.

I just don't think statments like "I hate all southerners" are helpful. It's hard being a southern liberal and we need support from our blue state allies, but sometimes it feels like we don't get that. People are entitled to their opinions though.

Evangelical Christians. They voted for Moore because he was pro-life.

To them, allegations of fondling teenagers is not as bad as being a confirmed "baby-killer."

You are not allowed to bring that up here.

You will be labeled a misogynist for mentioning that the majority of white women have voted two times now for actual misogynists. My theory is that white women give many progressive causes lip service but vote with their husbands since the status quo benefits them financially. It really is a win/win situation. A civil rights women where you get the benefits without any of the ass beatings.

I think the white women vocal about progressive causes probably mostly do vote for them (or are opportunists, à la Taylor Swift). The silent majority, however...

I mean it's more just the culture of white conservative america. Men are the "head" of the household and women are expected to be submissive to their husbands both physically and intellectually. It's sad but that's still how things are in many families. I highly doubt that the women who voted for Moore were paying any kind of lip service to progressive causes.

White women voted for Moore because he is pro-life. To them, he was a better choice because Jones is a pro-choice "baby killer."

Yeah. It’s so frustrating when people talk about all the dumb non college educated blue collar voters putting trump in office who vote against their best interests, but we all know trump was probably helped by tons of doctors and lawyers voting for tax cuts so they can stay marginally more wealthy. The dreaded “fiscal conservative” who has no interest is losing their place at the top of the status quo and voting for the “social liberalism” they say they also favor.

There it is.
