Did you move from Texas or move from the male gender?

Well their flair still says Texas, so if I had to guess it would be the latter.

The way I read her sentence, she moved from the male gender. Otherwise she would have written "white male former-Texan".

Edit: Removed all instances of the male gender upon confirmation of my assumption.

when you're unsure of what pronoun to use, they suffices as it can be both singular and plural.

"the way i read their sentence, they moved from the male gender."

Good suggestion. Should have thought of that. Thanks.

We actually added a new word for this in Swedish a few years ago, a mix between Han (him) and Hon (her) into Hen. Needless to say even here people got triggered by it. To me it's just convenient in certain situations.

The hyphen implies the male part is no longer true but who knows really

Yes, that.

In 20 years, everyone will have known what you meant right away. Thanks for being a pioneer! We probably don't deserve you.

Edit: bonus Captain Holt

You go girl! If you don't mind me asking, do you know how you are counted in voting statistics?

Still male on my license, sadly. It's going to be a slow process because I'm a student with a part-time job. But once I'm out of school and employed with insurance, I'm probably getting out of here to a place that's more accepting anyways

My friend has this with their health card where they need it to say female still to qualify for certain surgeries/treatments. It is annoying that you have to do everything so carefully to not get screwed. Best of luck!

I think he moved from Texas to the male gender.

Valid question, but just a quick correction. Male is not a gender, it’s biological, man/boy/etc is the gender you’re thinking of and is the collection of values and stuff our society has pinned to the male sex for a variety of reasons.

Yeah I'm not sure of the proper term, I was just curious if it was a male that moved from Texas or a Texan that moved from male. I was high, but as someone implied by the flair, it was most likely the latter, and that's cool.
